Internal Auditor

Role Overview: I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Auditor for a wonderful business who has seen significant growth, to join their Audit & Risk committee. The successful candidate will lead audit activities from planning to conclusion, collaborating with management to enhance control effectiveness and presenting findings to various levels of authority within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute audit assignments with minimal supervision, ensuring adherence to standards and deadlines.
• Identify key business risks, assess and test controls, and pinpoint improvement areas.
• Generate high-quality audit reports, securing senior management's commitment to action.
• Present findings to diverse audiences and monitor the implementation of audit recommendations.
• Foster positive relationships, support risk management, and promote best practices.
• Advise on fraud prevention, assess fraud risks, and suggest control enhancements.
• Maintain a corrective action database and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed.
• Provide ad-hoc advice on risk/control issues and assist in projects.
• Contribute to the internal audit plan, risk assessment, and policy/procedure maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Person Specification:

• Experience in internal audit functions, with knowledge of auditing standards and risk management.
• Familiarity with accounting principles and industry standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality, timely results.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Your new company
Hays are working with a well established and renowned business in Shrewsbury who are looking for a permanent Sales Administrator. This is a dynamic business in which there is room for growth.
Your new role
As a Sales Administrator your role will involve:

• Developing new revenue streams from new products and services, while optimising income from existing lines within existing customer base.
• Booking customers and prospect meetings for BDMs
• Preparing sales proposals & quotes using existing templates as required by the customer/prospects.
• Contributes to the lead generation process through telephone follow-up.
• Submit weekly KPI's and weekly review report to Line Manager.
• Ensure pipeline opportunities and tasks remain in date.
• Maintain a pipeline
• Achieving 50 outbound telephone conversations with customers each week.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role you will need:

• Minimum of 2 years proven experience in customer account management and business development.
• IT - Proficient with MS Office functionality - Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. Knowledge of SAP-B1, Sales-I and Salesforce would be a bonus.
• Strong customer support skills with a proven track record in managing clients and winning orders.
• Self driven and self motivated desire to close the deal and get results.
• Well presented and excellent organizational skills.
• Gets on well with the customer, even if difficult conversations have to be had.
• Understands the basic principles of negotiation.
• Able to identify customer needs and creatively provide solutions.

Your new role
This role reports into the Head of Internal Controls, where you will work alongside the controls team to develop and enhance the internal audit program. This role will include significant exposure to the Group CFO and the Group Finance Leadership Team as well as other critical stakeholders. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Build strong partnerships and relationships with internal stakeholders and be influential in producing an audit program into the organisation.
• Communicate with senior leadership and the wider finance team to help promote the internal audit plan.
• Concisely report back findings to stakeholders, setting out recommendations for improvement and streamlining.
• Prioritise your own audit agenda, along with assisting with the management of a risk strategy.
• Where appropriate, advise and work on future acquisitions made by the group.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will:

• Have a relevant degree or professional qualification within internal audit, risk or accounting, such as IIA, IRM, ACA.
• A proven track record of implementing and testing controls.
• Experience of working within a large and complex business, whilst communicating with wider stakeholders.
• Have a good understanding of technology and systems

You will spend circa 30% of your time working away with the team and the other 70% working from home.
Full training will be given alongside full ACCA study support.
We are looking for 2:1 or above accounting and finance related graduates with a passion and desire to work in internal audit. If you are due to graduate this year, please also apply with a view to starting in the summer.
