What's needed?

• A good knowledge of structural engineering principles and relevant design codes of practice (Eurocodes), and the ability to apply these across all projects.
• A good knowledge of structural engineering materials, to include steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• A demonstrable experience of working on UK based projects, in accordance with UK Building Regulations and other relevant UK standards, across a range of the main industry sectors such as industrial, residential, retail, commercial and healthcare.
• The candidate must be a team player, with excellent communication skills (written and verbal English) and the desire to work collaboratively to achieve the best results possible.
• Highly motivated, passionate and with an attention to detail.
• Essential experience of structural design software including, but not limited to, Tekla Structural Designer & Autodesk Robot.
• Good knowledge of BIM, and experience of delivering projects collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Relevant degree qualification - BEng/MEng Civil/Structural engineering (accredited).
• The successful candidate will be Chartered (or approaching) with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
• The role will generally be office based, with a flexible working approach. Candidates may be required to travel around the UK to attend design meetings and site visits.
• Full Driving Licence preferred.

Your new role
You will be joining your new company as an Associate Civil Infrastructure Engineer, reporting into the Head of Infrastructure and leading a highly technical design team of 10, including a number of Chartered Principal Engineers. You will mentor this team in the delivery of significant and varied projects across drainage, highway and building infrastructure designs.
The creative and innovative solutions that you will provide range across an incredible number of sectors including residential housing developments, commercial buildings, hospitals, university campuses, master-planning of urban areas, solar farms, sustainable energy plants and much more! Project values range from anywhere between £100,000 to £300m+.


What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed you will need at least 10 years of relevant UK experience, and a minimum of a BEng in Civil Engineering. Furthermore, Chartership with the ICE, IStructE or other relevant engineering board is a requirement.
You should be a positive influence capable of providing comprehensive technical guidance and support in the development of your team. Experience and passion for managing a technical team of civil design engineers is also highly desirable if you are to succeed in this role.
Significant design experience using the likes of AutoCAD, Civil3D/PDS and MicroDrainage/Flow is also essential.


What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive annual salary between £60,000 - £70,000 depending on your level of industry experience.
