The postholder will directly oversee the management ofthe commissioning and contracting functionsincluding GP, Community Pharmacy, Trusts, Independent Providers and ICBsfor all routine vaccinations including seasonal vaccine programmesand the project management and logistical arrangements for all seasonal vaccination programmes.The postholder will be an integral part of the West Midlands Vaccination Team and its required commissioning functions.
The Vaccination Commissioning team is responsible for ensuring high quality vaccination services are commissioned to meet the health needs of the population. The post holder will work primarily in the West of the Midlands Region, which covers six Integrated Care Board footprints.
We deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of work, including supporting vaccination programmes across NHS, private and community providers. In addition, we work in partnership with our Integrated Care Systems (ICS) and other national bodies such as the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).
As a Senior Commissioning Manager the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering effective vaccine service provision and supporting managers and staff across the ICB footprints, in readiness for delegation of the national vaccine commissioning mandate and the transfer of these services.
Specifically, the post holder will support the commissioning of the routine vaccination programmes of work to achieve the objectives in the four functional areas to include without limitation:
Directly line manage the Public Health Contract Manager(s) who will undertake the contractual requirements for all routine vaccination programmes including seasonal programmes
The development and delivery of transformation programmes including project managing seasonal vaccination programmes and their specified requirements i.e. logistics.
Effective programmemanagement includingreportingtomonitorandmeasurethelocalities
progress and feedback accordingly to relevant vaccination governance boards and forums.
Providingexpertiseofbestpracticemethodologiesregulatoryrequirements,policyimperatives,innovation andtechnological developmentsandstakeholdersknowledge.
Ensure effective vaccination commissioning across the population age groups in accordance with local & national strategies &priorities, management of all associated contracts whether directly held or through associate relationships.
