A day in the life of a Murphy, Senior SHES Advisor

- Advise and support Managers and Supervisors to discharge their responsibilities for the SHES of employees and others to whom they have a duty as defined by Legislation and Company Procedures.
- Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
- Carry out regular assurance activities of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions and as planned.

- Leeds The main purpose of this role is to support the People Function with the effective administration of all employee lifecycle administration requirements. What you will be doing

What you will be doing

- Co-ordinate all temporary works activities.
- Manage and coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors
- Ensure a temporary works register is established and maintained Ensure that information relevant to the temporary works has been received from the client, ensure that a design brief is prepared with consultation within the project team and that it is both adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site.
- Ensure that any other temporary works in the vicinity are referenced in the design brief.
- Ensure residual risks have been addressed. Provide information as required by CDM Regulations Ensure that the design brief is issued to the TWD for a satisfactory temporary works design to be carried out.
- Ensure that a design check is carried out by someone who was not involved in the original design and issue certificates. Ensure inspections are carried out and that all temporary works are constructed and removed safely
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to the safety and health framework, policies and management system requirements and expectations.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.

Who we are looking for

- Previous experience as a Temporary works Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.
- Working knowledge of Temporary Works management procedures, particularly BS5975.
- Experience in design and/or engineering management
- Degree qualification in civil engineering or equivalent is desirable
- Proven knowledge of Network Rail and Highways England technical standards and approval processes highly advantageous.
- Depth of understanding of the construction environment for safe and buildable designs.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements.
- Disciplined approach to quality assurance and documentation. Attention to detail, ensuring legal compliance and satisfying project requirements.

Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) Civils Construction – Leeds/York Area – Transpennine Route Upgrade East On a large multidisciplinary electrification project Murphy is recruiting for an experienced CRE-Construction Civils to deliver Bridge Replacement within Blockades, Footbridge Construction, Lineside Ancillary Civils Infrastructure and Culvert remedial works. To be successful in this role you will be confident in managing multiple stakeholders and relish implementing engineering strategies.
Overall responsibility for all engineering activities both on and off site for the business unit, including the day-to-day management of all engineering activities and the appointment of suitable resource to satisfactorily complete those works.

What you will be doing

- Regular liaison with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build
- Regular contact with the client to progressively assure designs, including participation in IDC/IDRs
- Review submissions for quality, sufficiency and adherence to relevant standards.
- Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams e.g. WPP / TBS / RA’s
- Approval of inspection and test plans produced by the project teams
- Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input

- Plan and deliver all site works, ensuring project is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
- Ensure short and medium contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered.
- Monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure, resolving issues but may escalate critical operational issues to the Project Manager (if a larger site).
- Line management of Section Managers and other workflow supervisors.
- Provide periodic updates to clients on project/contract progress, typically operational in nature.
- Ensure site documentation including WPP, TBS, ITP’s, and Risk Assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Review plant, labour and materials to ensure resources are in place for the short to medium term (1-3 months).

Who we are looking for

- Extensive background in site management delivering Bridge Reconstructions, Rail and Infrastructure projects.
- HNC Building Studies or a degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management.
- Knowledge sufficient to attain Chartered level of ICE.
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.
- Solid health and safety knowledge and will hold a health and safety related qualification.

- Previous experience as a Temporary works Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.

Contractor’s Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Leeds/York Area – Transpennine Route Upgrade East On a large multidisciplinary electrification project Murphy is recruiting for an experienced CRE-Construction Civils to deliver Lineside Ancillary Civils Infrastructure, Footbridge Construction and Culvert remedial works. To be successful in this role you will be confident in managing multiple stakeholders and relish implementing engineering strategies.

What you will be doing
