Senior Support Worker
Pay rate: £13.50 per hour
Working Hours: 7:45 am – 7:45pm & 7:45pm - 7:45am
Komplex Community are recruiting for motivated and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our team in the Telford area to provide care and support for a young man with a very big heart and lots of character who has recently moved in to his own house with 2:1 staff support 24/7.
Are you committed to making a real difference to someone’s life?
In his sister’s words:
My amazing brother is 23-years old with a diagnosis of Prader Willi syndrome, Autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. He is looking for someone to support and care for him who is bubbly, chatty, has a great sense of humour and really cares about making sure he can live his best life. It is important that he can trust you and that you will always have his best interests and happiness in mind while also being able to listen and understand how he ticks and his frustrations.
My brother loves life. He lights up a room. He loves good banter. Yet he can display behaviour that challenges at times. He can become anxious and frustrated, and things can become confusing and difficult for him. Sometimes he is just misunderstood and once you get to know him as a person, you will see that too. With patience and understanding alongside firm boundaries in place; any incidents are reduced.
He has many interests already around Telford he loves including: going to see musicals, watching Strictly Come Dancing, going on dog walks at a local rescue centre, having riding lessons and helping out at his local Park Run. Singing and dancing make him really happy! There’s lots of opportunity to introduce him to other activities in the Telford area to keep him busy and become a bigger part of his local community.
Family is really important to him and we visit him often and are very involved in his life; we’ll enjoy getting to know you too.
If you feel you could be the right fit for him and be willing to join in with his interests and help keep him happy, then please apply and become part of a great team. You really won’t regret it if you are the right person!
