Due to continued growth and expansion, we are recruiting for an ambitious Customer Success Executive who wants to grow quickly in an entrepreneurial environment. GWI is expanding our Customer Success team in line with some exciting changes within the company, which will involve offering even more support to our subscribers than we do already to help transition them under our new company strategy.

Global Water Intelligence is an ambitious company with around 70 employees spread between Oxford, Austin (Texas) and Shanghai (China). We publish market leading magazines, databases, and reports on the international water industry. Additionally, we run a series of successful international events. 

The Customer Success Executive will be working on the publishing side of the business, focusing on supporting our highly successful Sales Team who sell databases (such as GWI WaterData & GWI DesalData), subscription publications (GWI Magazine) and industry specific network platforms (UltraPure Micro). The Customer Success team works closely with the Sales Team to help maintain our existing subscriber base by offering training and support to all our subscribers, answer customer queries regarding our data and services, report on usage analytics and identify patterns in the customer journey.

Responsibilities

As a Customer Success Executive at GWI, your responsibilities will include:

• Training and supporting existing subscribers on our different products
• Understanding the platforms to a high level to answer queries about the data and analysis we provide
• Communicating customer feedback between different teams within GWI such as the content and marketing teams
• Analysing usage data to produce reports for both client and internal use
• Analysing user behaviour to map out the customer journey
• Being responsible for renewing subscriptions

The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running and develop a rapid understanding of our product portfolio, related markets and the value proposition to different client segments.

As a Research Graduate Trainee, you will get the opportunity to try different activities during the initial six-month training period to allow you to develop a full picture of our business. Responsibilities:

· Producing high-quality written content: Fewer people have time to read these days, so if you are going to write content, you have to write well. You will need to identify key information through research and analysis, organise your thoughts and express them concisely. Don’t be deterred if English is not your first language. We can edit for English.
· Interviewing people, building relationships and networks: Our business is built on speaking to the right people and asking the right questions. We need people who can proactively network with individuals to gather ideas and information.
· Collecting and interpreting data: We are the main source of data for the international water industry. With that responsibility comes important skills: persistence in sourcing and gathering new data, squeezing spreadsheets until they tell a story and presenting it effectively through data visualisation.
· Communicating ideas: People increasingly don’t consume information as text: they take it in visually. Feeding this kind of consumer is a challenge. It requires staff who can synthesise complex issues into simple graphics and who are confident presenting and explaining our content in webinars.
· Managing projects: Most of what we do is a team effort, but getting great people to work well together is a skill in itself. We need people who are organised, empathetic communicators to manage projects and bring everything together.
· Working across teams towards wider business growth: Your work will always be part of a bigger picture – in taking ownership of your projects you will collaborate with other teams from across the business (sales, marketing, and design) to ensure everything we do contributes towards the company’s vision and goals.

Person requirements:
We do not expect any experience in the water industry, but we are looking for candidates who have pursued a rigorous course of study at university. Although we are looking for specific skills, we don't expect them all in one person: if you think you might be good at two or three, we would like to hear from you.

· Rigorous research skills, demonstrating an inquisitive mind, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
· Strong writing skills with the ability to tell a story and highlight key information concisely. Experience in an editorial environment is advantageous.
· Good data collection and analysis skills, with the ability to translate relevant data trends into interesting stories. Experience in Excel is advantageous.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including taking initiative, showing ownership of tasks, and managing your time.
· Project management skills, including scoping projects, delegating tasks and collaborating with different teams.
· Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly in interviewing and building relationships with external contacts, and presenting stories and key ideas to a wider audience.
· Ability to understand the bigger picture and the commercial angle of your tasks, and how your work contributes to wider business goals.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
· Foreign language skills (especially German and French) are desirable.

At Global Water Intelligence we collect a huge amount of data and are the main source of data for the international water industry. Our data and analysis are used by businesses, governments and investors to inform strategic decisions on the water sector. In some cases, we can collect near-comprehensive market data, while for others we need to rely on a combination of modelling, indicators, and contacts. In both cases, data needs to be collected, interpreted, and presented by in-house analysts who know enough about their subject area to validate and contextualise our numbers.

As a Graduate Data Analyst at GWI you will get to grips with new subject areas, explore unique datasets, and work out which data points we need in order to find the answer. We are looking for someone with a creative and inquisitive mind, with a good head for numbers and an adaptable approach to work.

Responsibilities:

• Build, manage and maintain datasets: As a data analyst you will help the wider data team to continue to provide invaluable forecast information and datasets to our clients. This includes collecting and organising external datasets, updating sources, carefully analysing information and accurately highlighting anomalies.
• Analysing and visualising data: Working with large datasets comes with challenges, this is why effective data analysis and visualisation is essential to draw out the interesting stories hiding behind the data.
• Clearly communicate information: Our customers rely on our numbers to help validate their business decisions. To earn that trust we need to communicate our methods and assumptions clearly and concisely. The same challenge applies internally. In a fast-paced research environment, complex topics and challenges need to be explained with the upmost clarity to ensure the whole team is on the same page.

• Experience using Excel (including PivotTables or Power Query is desirable).

• Experience creating forecasts or data centric models is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex data systems to the wider team.
• Project management skills, including scoping projects, delegating tasks and collaborating effectively with different teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including taking initiative, showing ownership of tasks, and managing your own time.
