To contribute to the development of the Urology Nursing Service for Herefordshire and ensure practice is patient centred To support patients and their families who may have emotional difficulties in adapting to cancer diagnosis and those whose disease is not responsive to treatment, making direct referrals to Clinical Psychologist as appropriate. Running independent clinics within the Urological Diagnostic and Treatment Centre including surveillance clinics, male and female lower urinary tract symptoms, erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hypertrophy and urology one stop clinic. Being part of intra-vesical cytotoxic clinics. To assist in diagnostic procedures where necessary such as Flexible Cystoscopy, Local Anaesthetic Trans-Perineal Prostate Biopsies, Lithotripsy, Urodynamic Studies and Flow and Scan Tests. To be a Practice Assessor and Supervisor for nursing students. To demonstrate evidence-based advanced practice in holistic assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care within the urology service.
