As a Customer Solutions Architect you will be in involving in collaborating with experts to deliver robust solutions using industry best practices and ICT frameworks.

Key Requirements:

• Hold SC clearance.
• Expertise in unified communication technologies (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in designing and configuring complex systems.
• Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNP Collaboration, Ribbon SBC-ISP, VMware VCP-EUC.

Design Manager - Leading Contractor

Location: Bristol

I am currently working with a leading contractor based in the heart of Bristol.

Responsibilities

• Understand client requirements/output specs
• Ensure pricing assumptions are consistent with the development of the design - with Pre construction manager
• Monitors design progress and ensures the accuracy and completeness of design variables at each stage of the design development process (ITN Phase / PB Phase / Construction Phase)
• Ensures that all resources for coordination are appointed
• Prepare monthly report to Design Leads
• Responsible for design compliance, build ability, efficiency of design and supporting the bid process.
• Responsible to lead the sign off of documents to the correct status
• Prepares and validates the Design Management Plan (DMP)
• Prepares the Project`s Document Management Procedure in accordance with TEC.CMP.05.
• Endorses Consultants` DMPs
• Defines consultant values and authorizes appointed consultants payments
• Defines designer`s objectives: time, details, ratios, coordination`s, etc.
• Manage the flow of design information and the Document Control
• Support the procurement and commercial teams
• Representing the company at Client/User/Local Authority and other stakeholder meetings
• Co-ordinate the input from the Technical Department necessary to develop a robust design
• Manage the Environmental Certification Process i.e. BREEAM / CFSH
• Manage (preconstruction) or participate (construction) the Design Transfer from preconstruction to construction

We are looking for a Design Manager to join a contractor based near Bristol to join their growing pre-construction team.

The company works across the Bristol, wider South West and Wiltshire patch, are privately owned regional business with 3 other offices and have a highly successful track record working on a range of schemes in the education, commercial, retail and industrial marketplaces and more recently have successfully been awarded the opportunity to to work on some of the latest framework opportunities for local government and local authorities as well as the larger strategic 5 year agreements as well as working on repeat business opportunities for a range of established clients.

Typical projects range from £5 to £25 million in value on both 2 stage negotiated and competitive single stage bids.

The role you will undertake is to work on both bids and tenders all the way through to information management on the live schemes so you will have the unique insight to be able to take the scheme from tender all the way through to the build phase and finally client handover.

Precon duties will include working with bid team, estimating teams, building services and design managers to create and submit best bid possible. This is based on forensic analysis of the design process of each package, working with internal teams as well as specialist consultants and engineers as well as the supply chain to overcome issues and be able to come up with innovative ideas and suggestions for the design elements of the scheme. You will have the opportunity to work with several experienced individuals who can help train and develop your skills.

Upon contract award you will be responsible for drawings and information control with site teams, subcontractors and client. You will be expected to spend time on site working with the teams to ensure compliance with BIM and CDM requirements and work with commercial teams on RFI's, variations etc. and take responsibility for the design elements of the project as it progresses through the programme.

They are currently working on several new bids, 2nd stage opportunities as well as 3 live projects in the Bristol area - all of which you can get involved with.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in every aspect of a construction business and life cycle of a project and the contractor have an excellent training programme and this role would suit someone looking to move up into the role from a trainee or assistant level or an experienced coordinator with a view to gaining both experience and promotion in the medium term.
