Position Sought: Procurement Manager
Company: Major Civil Engineering Contractor
Project: High Speed 2 (HS2)
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Freelance
Rate: Up to £600 p/d Outside IR35 (subject to IR35 determination)
Our client, who is a well known and respected player within the Civil Engineering sector, is currently looking for a Procurement Manager to join a multi pound brand new Interchange Station as part of the HS2 project.
Day to day you will be involved in sourcing and agreeing the supply chain, tendering activities, making recommendations for award and drafting contracts.
Our client is looking for:
- Good Knowledge of sustainable procurement, business sustainable standards, supply chain members, processes and requirements during work winning and live project environments.
- Good Knowledge base of Suppliers, Sub-Contractors and Services through robust and ethical Procurement processes.
- Budgeting, to enable assistance with efficient and cost effective delivery.
- Experience of Procurement quality management system (QMS) and tools to embed best practice, processes and procedures.
- Providing internal and external Customer satisfaction and develop an understanding and in turn compliance with professional standards.
- Procurement and commercial principles experience.
- Ability to developing trusting and mutual working relationships.
- Able to provide management information and reports.
- Provide different procurement strategies tailored to the need.

Having MCIPS or a desire to work toward it would be an advantage. Alternatively either a Diploma or Degree in business studies would be desirable.
