The Matron role is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and motivated practitioner who wishes to provide senior leadership and operational management to our Infection Prevention and Control Team. You will form part of an inspirational and motivational team who demonstrate the Trust CARE values through all behaviours and actions, to ensure the best care and experiences are given to our patients and that nurses and care staff practice to the highest standards.

We are looking for a highly experienced, motivated, and dynamic senior nurse who can support our Infection Prevention and Control Team on its ever developing journey to delivering Outstanding Care.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership and support in all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) to Trust staff, with the assistance of the IPC Nurse Consultant and the team.

They will manage the IPC workload with the Infection Control Nursing team and will be accountable for the daily operational management of the team, as well as for developing the infection control service. This includes ensuring that infection prevention and control policies are current and followed by closely collaborating with staff, demonstrating best practices, offering education and training, conducting mandatory surveillance, and overseeing relevant projects.

These are new development posts that provide an opportunity to rotate between different system areas. The placements will include secondary and primary care settings and care homes. As a registered health care professional you will work with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Teams in a development post, to develop your knowledge and skills in infection prevention and the control of infections. The IPC team are committed to the prevention of avoidable infections and ensuring that national and local agendas are incorporated into the clinical setting to support the delivery of high standards of care for our patients. The post holder must have a keen interest in IPC e.g., IPC link Practitioner. During the secondment you will be supported with and involved in a small quality improvement project looking at improving urinary tract infection diagnosis and management. This role offers the successful candidate a great opportunity to share in the culture of learning, continuous improvement and promotion of good practice across various specialties and services to support with improving the quality and safety of patient care.

Are you ready for a leadership role?

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Radiology Department at Sherwood Forest Hospital as the IR(ME)R and governance lead. We are a friendly department and have high standards of quality, safety, and patient care.

This is a pivotal role in creating and maintaining a radiation safety culture across all members of staff within the department. Your knowledge and skills will support understanding of legal requirements and responsibilities involving IR(ME)R17 and IRR17 across the Trust and within the community.

The post holder will ensure that all aspects of our services operate within robust clinical governance and quality assurance guidelines to ensure a safe, compassionate service. They will be responsible for writing and updating policies, standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining the non-medical referrers database. They will work closely with the radiology management team, medical physics colleagues and the divisional governance lead to undertake investigations and follow up actions and recommendations. The post holder will be the departments representative at both departmental and divisional governance meetings, each held monthly.

The post holder will undertake some clinical duties in their speciality area.
