As a Leisure Assistant at Sodexo at Corporal Budd VC Gymnasium, Colchester carry out the day to day dry-side duties as required within the Reception, Sports Halls, Fitness Suites, Squash Courts and Dry changing rooms. You'll be passionate about inter-communication and have our customers and their safety at heart of everything you do.

What you’ll do:

• Manage the Swimming Pool & Sports Hall Equipment, to include storage, issue & receipt, and the maintaining of records.
• Care of Fitness Suite Equipment, including regular checks, maintenance, the keeping of records, and performing customer familiarisations as required.
• The overall supervision of the facility user sheets as produced and issued by the Authority, as well as Company Quality Assurance support documentation and controls.
• The reporting to the Authority & Company of all breakages, losses and work service requirements.
• The storage, control and recording of all lost property.
• The control of all COSHH and cleaning stock.
• The daily cleaning regimes within the Gymnasium in compliance with the contract requirements.
• Ensuring overall compliance by all users, military and civilian alike, with Gymnasium safety practices.
• Man Reception on a daily basis, control entry to the facility, including checking of passes/id, and ensuring customers sign in
• Complete weekly audits; stores equipment, sports hall equipment, fitness suite, locker check and Legionella.
• Ensure spectator seating, sports halls, fitness suites, squash courts, boxing suite, all stores and dry changing rooms are kept clean as necessary
• Cover Lifeguard duties when required by the Gymnasium management team
• To aid Lifeguards in water emergency
• Carry out leisure services reactive cleaning in accordance with SSS/SDS
• Lifeguarding/Supervising planned session in the swimming pool
• To provide contingency cover for the Receptionist - this includes Managing the Reception area, controlling duty Sodexo staff, and ensuring the area is kept tidy and presentable.
• Additional responsibilities/ad-hoc duties may be required from time to time

What you bring:

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (desirable)
• Experience working in a leisure and fitness facility
• Experience in a customer facing role
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Knowledge of health and safety
• Able to work on own initiative within team environment
• Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
• ICT skills (experience in using Word, Excel and Microsoft outlook)

As a Purchasing Assistant at Merville Barracks, Colchester you'll provide efficient purchasing administration to support the site, raising purchase order and data input, to invoicing and billing. As a Military Administrator at Merville Barracks, Colchester You'll provide efficient administration to support J3 Staff Officers in the management and operation of Colchester Garrison Infrastructure. You're the one with the skills to ensure behind the scenes of facilities run like clockwork and ensure your managers feel supported. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. We are looking for someone who is outgoing. dynamic and has the ability to work without supervision.

What you’ll do:

• Responsible to J3 Staff Officers for the maintenance, administration, and distribution of J3 information and returns.

• Provide clerical support to all J3 Officers, including drafting routine correspondence as necessary

• Management of, and collation of returns and statistics

• Act as the focal point for J3 Staff Officers during their absence on exercise / Operations.

• Response to routine higher Headquarters / unit telephone enquiries

• All telephone queries resolved or passed on

• Programme, co-ordinate and arrange meetings and interviews as directed by J3 Staff Officers.

• Prepare rooms and facilities for meetings, including provision of necessary stationery, distributing materials and arranging refreshments.

• Provide assistance during the meetings as required which may include taking minutes and the clearance of the rooms thereafter.

• Produce, complete, clear and accurate minutes of meeting ready to be reviewed by J3 Staff Officers within three business days of the relevant meeting.

• Provision of office support

What you bring: 

• Security Check level vetting required (this is provided by Sodexo)

• Knowledge and aptitude for computers.

• Previous administration experience.

• Experience of MS Word, Excel, TEAMS and Outlook.

• Good Telephone Manner.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to prioritise work

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Experienced Administrator with demonstrable skills in autonomy
