Job Description:
As a CNC Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the components produced by CNC machines meet the required quality standards and specifications. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams, using precision measuring tools and inspection techniques to verify that all products conform to technical drawings, customer requirements, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections of CNC-machined components to ensure they meet dimensional and quality specifications.
* Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), height gauges, and other inspection tools.
* Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and compliant production.
* Conduct visual inspections for surface finishes, defects, and overall appearance of products.
* Identify and report non-conforming products, documenting any deviations or quality issues.
* Work closely with CNC machinists and production staff to correct quality issues and ensure consistent product quality.
* Maintain detailed inspection records and generate reports on quality performance and inspection findings.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, recurring issues, and potential areas for process improvement.
* Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards within the production area.
* Collaborate with the quality and engineering teams to implement and maintain quality control procedures.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in quality inspection within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
* Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment and interpreting technical drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Good understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensional control.
* Familiarity with CMM machines (both manual and automated) is highly desirable.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Good communication skills to report findings and work with cross-functional teams.
* Desirable Qualifications:
Apprenticeship or NVQ in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Experience with ISO 9001 standards or other relevant quality management systems.
Salary:
£14.00 to £15.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
