Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct stock condition surveys to meet regulatory standards, including Decent Homes and HHSRS.
- Assess energy efficiency, helping achieve environmental targets through recommendations in line with PAS2035.
- Identify and manage risks, including hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to devise solutions for property condition issues.
- Maintain records using our stock condition database and support quality assurance.

This role is being offered on a full time, fixed term basis for a period of up to 18 months to cover a period of maternity leave. You will be based in the Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Taunton area.

About The Candidate

To be successful in your application, you will meet the essential skills and experience for a Level 1 role (please see our candidate information pack) and the following role specific requirements:

- Experience in building surveying or construction management, ideally within a social housing setting.
- Knowledge of domestic building pathology and a commitment to safety and sustainability.
- Excellent communication skills, customer focus and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- HNC, NVQ or equivalent qualifications in a property-related field.
- PAS 2035 or DEA accreditation, or a willingness to work towards.
- Full UK driving licence, and access to a suitable vehicle.

The highly regarded Construction Professional Indemnity team plays a key role in the office's overall insurance offering.

Your new role
You will be given responsibility and autonomy early on in this exciting role to manage complex high value claims acting for many of the major global insurers and insureds. You will defend claims against a raft of professional advisors including engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, design/ build contractors and surveyors, while working for a team top ranked by the directories.

With existing relationships with major insurers well established, you will handle and be reporting to insurers on often difficult and complex areas of law.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a recently qualified Litigator who has trained and worked for a leading Commercial Litigation or Insurance Litigation firm.

An excellent underlying litigation skillset is key and experience of handling Construction Insurance or wider Professional Indemnity claims would be a distinct advantage, though applications from litigators keen to move into this sector would also be considered.
You will be solution focused with the ability to play a key role in a large cross-office team.

Construction Technician

Locations: Dartford, Gateshead, Birmingham, Bristol, and St Helens

Several years ago, they brought their advertising site construction in-house and have since delivered hundreds of successful projects, including digital units, billboards, and large installations. They are currently seeking a Construction Technician to join their growing teams in Dartford, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol, and St Helens to support exciting projects in the coming year.

What Will You Be Doing?

You'll work as part of a two-person crew, handling tasks like breaking up ground and replacing or installing digital units across the local area, with occasional travel further afield as needed. The position offers a competitive salary of £34,000 to £40,000, %8 annual bonus, 25 days' paid leave (plus bank holidays), flexible working options, training opportunities, and fully expensed tools and PPE.

If you don't already hold a Class 2 HGV license, training and costs are fully covered to help you obtain it. This physically active role involves working at heights, primarily using step ladders, so teamwork and clear communication with your crew partner are essential.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Transport digital units from the depot to sites using an HGV truck (after training).
• Break ground and install digital units.
• Replace parts on digital units as needed.
• Manage workload with your crew partner and coordinate with other local teams.
• Adhere to Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.
• Ensure traffic management is in place and follow safety protocols to secure the work area.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, using equipment properly and maintaining tools safely.

Knowledge, Experience, and Attributes:

• Full driving licence (max. 3 points).
• CPCS A36 Lorry loader hook (novice or above).
• CPCS Slinger certification.
• Competency in CAT use.
• NRSWA accreditation (Operative standard).
• Knowledge of excavation and sub-structure work.
• Understanding of RAMS and technical drawings.
• Experience with power tools such as hydraulic breakers and disc saws.

Your new firm

Our client, a collaborative and nurturing international firm, is looking for a Property & Casualty Claims Handler to join their vibrant and growing Insurance Group in Bristol. The firm has a well-established client base, acting for the vast majority of household and commercial property Insurers in the market, as well as some large insureds and cover holders. The team handles a wide variety of claims arising out of property damage, including (amongst other things) fire, water, subsidence, construction and impact damage.

This role is based in our client's Bristol office, however you will be able to work remotely from home for part of the week if desired, as the firm operates a hybrid working policy.

Your new role
The role largely involves running a case load of subrogated recovery matters on behalf of a range of insurers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to run a property recovery claim from first instruction, through the pre-action stage and into proceedings when necessary. A familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules is therefore necessary.

The work will be varied, interesting and challenging and where you show you can run the cases successfully, you will be given autonomy to stamp your own mark on the files; there will be the opportunity to work on matters varying in value from £10,000 all the way up to millions of pounds. You will also get involved with business development and client initiatives, where appropriate.

In addition, you can expect to:

Manage a large caseload of Property Insurance claims.
Deliver a high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.
Capture and collate required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients.
Contribute to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have prior Claims Handling and/or litigation experience, including running a case load. Experience of Insurance is preferable but not essential. Our client is happy to consider candidates either with a Law degree, those working towards ACII, CILEx or equivalent legal qualification, or alternatively you might have significant experience in claims, with technical knowledge and experience. Candidates should have litigation experience and a familiarity with Civil Procedure Rules.

An understanding of how to provide excellent customer service is essential, and you will be hardworking, enthusiastic and motivated, with competent skills in Microsoft Office. Previous experience of using a case management system is desirable.
