Job Purpose
Responsible for the operational management of a service or group of services within a supported housing and/or retirement living setting. Effectively manage a team to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, ensuring delivery of legislative and contractual performance requirements. Service Manager required to cover role whilst we recruit the permanent position.
Service manager accountabilities

• Manage the services to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service.
• Provide motivational leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the team, ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication, and development of personal potential.
• Manage team performance to deliver outstanding service by reviewing work outputs, appraising individual performance, and setting improvement targets.
• Ensure that the service meets its internal performance targets and any contract-specific targets.
• Maintain appropriate recording systems to monitor and report on service performance and compliance. Provide accurate reports to line managers as required, to deadline.
• Participate in the setting and management of service budgets.
• Monitor spend and report budget variances to the Area Manager.
• Participate in the out-of-hours management arrangements for the area/region.

Service manager Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

• Experience of working within a housing and/or support environment
• Experience of working with vulnerable customers
• Good communication and conflict resolution skills
• Good understanding and experience of IT systems (Microsoft Office and databases)

Service manager Qualifications and Experience.

• Previous experience in a Service manager role.
• Enhanced DBS certification.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and engage in lone working situations.

The Package
This is a temporary, Service manager role,40 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.

Our Registered Manager will be working alongside local authorities, healthcare professionals and the families of the people we support as well as leading a team to ensure that people gain more independence in their daily lives and have positive outcomes.

You will be managing the day-to-day running of the service(s), developing and implementing person centred support plans, conducting care needs assessments, recruiting and inducting new colleagues, completing supervisions/appraisals, completing medication competencies and medication audits, attending mutli-disciplinary meetings, completing quarterly audits and reports, effectively manage the services P&L, ensure regulatory, legislative, internal and contractual requirements are met including relevant notifications and adherence to policies and procedures. You’ll be a friendly, dynamic and caring leader with a passion for the care sector and delivering the best support.

You will also take part in the on-call rota (although this may be subject to change depending on the needs of the service).

We’re interested in our Registered Manager having both the right experience and the right values. Deputy Manager needed in a Children's Home in Swindon

Start Date- ASAP
Location - Swindon
Duration - Permanent
Hours per week - Full time
Salary - £28,000 - £34,000 per annum dependent on experience

Description:

• You will have the opportunity to make a huge difference within a child's life. You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support
• You will not only ensure the welfare and care of each child but also give guidance and support to all residential workers
• You will be committed to making a difference, this includes being responsible for staff supervisions, leading shifts, ensuring placement plans are followed, policies, procedures, risk assessments, rotas and making that education is supported

What is required?

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
