About the role

The Operations Manager’s core purpose is to:

Lead, inspire and develop the right employee culture. Our Cycas Spirit is key to the success of this hotel. The hotel team will in turn, reward you by exceeding profit and performance targets by delivering consistently high standards – because they love what they do! You must be an inspirational leader by role modelling and taking a hands-on and can-do approach. You will be fully responsible for the day-to-day operations of front office, housekeeping and breakfast operation. You will support the General Manager and drive the team to succeed. This position will involve a high degree of hands-on leadership and involvement. This is a dynamic role and you will need to be flexible to suit the needs of the business including shift patterns that includes weekends.

Key Job Responsibilities

Health Safety & Security ✓ Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety ✓ Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures ✓ Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are logged and brought to the attention of your line manager

Revenue:


To ensure the team is aware of hotel availability and take every opportunity to maximise room sales.
To increase room revenue by managing effectiveness of room category upselling
To have a full understanding of all systems and programs
To display a pro-active and innovative approach to skills development and standards enhancement within your team
Display a pro-active and consistent approach to stock control, cost control and cash control.


People:


Manage day-to-day operational activities, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognise good performance
Train, and motivate hotel staff to achieve hotel goals. Ensure staff have the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties
Oversee the day-to-day operations and assignments of the hotel staff; assist the General Manager in the development and communication of departmental strategies and goals. Communicate and enforce policies and procedures
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
Ensure that the team are developed to provide a hospitable service in line with the operating standards.
To develop the team to anticipate guest needs, act upon and follow up guest requests and deliver a level of service and responsiveness that generates compliments
To actively support other departments and act when assistance is needed


Guest Experience:


Establish and implement appropriate service recovery guidelines in order to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Respond to guest’s complaints or concerns in a prompt and professional manner
Review guest feedback and implement strategies for continuous improvement
Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIP’s, large groups and other key guests
Lead marketing efforts to upsell guests on hotel services, offerings and amenities
To ensure that the operation runs smoothly from the guest perspective with the main focus on guest services desk and breakfast/evening reception areas
To develop interactive customer relations and to be aware of any possible future requirements. To relay such information to the line manager for the enhancement of customer expectation.


Responsible Business:


Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with the hotels or owner’s policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
Maintain relations with outside contacts
Comply with local laws regarding health, safety and alcohol services
Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a ‘green’ hotel • Perform other duties as assigned


About you


Minimum 1-2 year’s hotel management experience within the London market
Keen ability to analyse performance metrics
Know how to manage budgets to achieve optimal returns
Candidates with a strong Front office background are preferred
A good working knowledge of Mews PMS is desired
Previous work experience in a Boutique Style hotel is desired but not essential

About You

Our ideal Hospitality Assistant will have the following skills and values:

• Caring nature.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents.
• Experience of working in a catering service in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
• Delivering prepared food from the kitchen to the dining areas and serving meals to residents in a pleasant and friendly manner.
• Ensure refreshment is always available
• Setting up tables, tidy work areas and preparing food areas for next service to ensure high standards of hygiene

Experience:

• Ideally some experience working in a busy restaurant/hospitality or catering
• Good communication and excellent customer service skills to be able to deliver a good service to our visitors and elderly residents
• Team player, self-motivated, proactive and flexible

Hope Green Residential Home

Hope Green is located on the edge of the village of Poynton and is conveniently located close to junction 1 of the M60 motorway. Local shops, library, hairdressers, surgery, pharmacy and public house are all within walking distance. Hope Green Residential Home was originally built in the late 18th century and has been used as a care home since 1990. The home has been extended and refurbished to provide accommodation for 52 residents in luxury surroundings. All rooms are fully carpeted and decorated to a high standard and have a nurse call system, fire detection and bedroom furniture. Carers encourage residents to bring small items of furniture to personalise their room. Hope Green now boasts three lounge areas, three dining rooms, a hairdressing salon and full assisted bathrooms. Residents can enjoy the well maintained garden with its large secluded patio and separate sun lounge. Within the extension, residents can enjoy the garden with bi-folding doors, bringing the outside in. Parking is available for up to 25 cars.
