Mental health teaching assistants & Behaviour Mentor needed for secondary school - Lewisham - Full time - ASAP Start!


This is a full-time on-site role supporting social, emotional mental health students with their learning journey. The role is based in the Lewisham / Blackheath area with local bus, DLR and overground transport links. As a SEN Behaviour mentor, your day-to-day tasks will include assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons, implementing behaviour management strategies, facilitating activities to promote social skills development, and supporting students in their academic and personal growth.



Must Have:

- Skills at building rapport with challenging young people

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills

- Able to support students with academic subjects at basic levels

- Availability to commit to Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.45pm

The post holder will be a member of the Health Visiting Team. In conjunction with the Health Visiting Team he/she will contribute to the assessment of health needs and delivery of appropriate services to meet needs of both the individual and the wider Community within a defined area of the Primary Care Trust population. She/he will undertake duties as delegated by the Health Visitor, which includes child health promotion and surveillance, predictive guidance support and advice to families with children under 5 years of age. She/he works as part of the primary health care team, liaising and working with statutory and voluntary agencies to promote the health and wellbeing of the local population as appropriate.
