Part-time 30 hours per week Moving Forward service supports individuals in South Tyneside who has experienced mental health issues to get back on their feet. Were here for adults in South Tyneside who have experienced mental health issues, and those who care and support them. You will support the Service Manager in all aspects of the service to deliver a high standard of client support, achieve agreed targets and outcomes. You will be responsible for management and leadership of a team of link workers, providing supervision, coaching and support. You will develop good working relationships with service users, carers, staff and other agencies. Duties and responsibilities Day to day management of staff team including regular supervision and performance coaching. Ensure staff issues are addressed including performance, sickness absence, competency, work related stress and wellbeing and lead on the development plans to address these. Deliver induction training to new staff and support continuous professional development needs in line with organisational policies. Promote and demonstrate pro-active management and leadership style to all staff to ensure good working practices and team working. Ensure that all training needs are identified, met and updated in line with relevant changes and practices. Monitor staff practice through regular audit, providing feedback and training as required. Being a primary point of contact for Safeguarding incidents following procedures and appropriate decision making. Ensure that Service Manager is aware of issues related to staff and service delivery. Provide up to date information on service outcomes and targets, produce high quality reports. Liaise with Community Treatment Team staff and other professionals to build relationships, resolve issues and manage service capacity. Promote the service widely, attend partner (internal/external) meetings representing the service. To action any complaints within a timely manner following policy and procedures. To carry out appraisal appointments with staff, helping them achieve their goals and the organisations strategic aims and goals. To be confident in presenting reports in meetings to our commissioners. About you Qualified by experience. Demonstrable experience of managing a team including associated HR processes. Significant experience working in a health and social care setting. Significant experience of working with people that have either SMI or a complex health condition. Significant experience of working to set targets/KPIs for commissioned or statutory services. Significant experience of working 1:1 with service users and/or people with complex needs. Significant experience of working within health, social care, or VCS systems. Understanding of challenges and barriers on accessing services. Understanding of recovery in the context of mental health. Understanding of issues surrounding loneliness and isolation, financial inclusion, homelessness, or substance misuse. Understanding of the effects of stigma and discrimination. Understanding of mental health issues and users needs. Understanding of the behaviours of people expressing difficult emotions, anxiety, and anger management. Understanding of the health and social care landscape. Understanding of Pathways Understanding of confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations Highly developed communication skills, orally and in writing. Developed customer service skills. Developed relationship building skills. Developed report writing skills. Developed problem solving skills. Developed investigation skills to support the team with queries and/or complaints. Developed IT skills including Office 365 Ability to work individually or within a team and foster good working relationships. Ability to manage a high volume, pressured role and seek support when required.
