Working in a small team the Reactive Maintenance Engineer will be working on a wide range of Machinery, overhauling, and adapting along with reactive and planned maintenance.

Duties include:
• Knowledge of - Conveyors, welding pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics.
• You would be able to look for continuous improvement of the plant to identify new methods and procedures.
• Able to work as part of a small team with a flexible and a right first-time approach.
• Good attention to detail is essential, the role of an Engineer is vital to our operation.
• A good understanding of work-based instructions and the ability to pick up new ways of working quickly.
• Reactive maintenance across the site to ensure optimal performance.
• Mechanically replacing bearings, compressor checks, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Completing all relevant documentation to a high standard.
• Basic facility and site service maintenance when required.

Candidates will be required to provide reactive maintenance cover across the site. They will be required to replace bearings, compressor checks, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Your new role
As a
Facilities Maintenance Operative, you play a crucial role in ensuring that both planned and reactive maintenance tasks within the prisons are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulations. Your work is essential to maintaining a secure and well-functioning environment.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. You will work 10 days followed by 3 days off, then 5 days with 3 days off.
The shift pattern includes working 1 in every 3 weekends on a rota basis, which entitles you to an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
You will be responsible for performing general and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of facilities. You will conduct monthly checks and tests on fire extinguisher equipment, along with regular inspections of fire hydrants and fire hoses, and complete quarterly RCD testing to maintain electrical safety standards.You must inspect and maintain Misting Units to ensure they are functioning correctly and carry out fire door inspections to guarantee they meet safety regulations. Each month you will perform emergency lighting checks to ensure proper illumination during emergencies. You will also handle any other duties as required, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the facility.
You will work alongside the engineers on all maintenance across the site as well as working independently. Prison Security Clearance will be required (you will be supported through this process).

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience in Fire Door & Fire Extinguisher Maintenance, Fire Alarm Core Points and Emergency Lighting. You can also demonstrate hands-on knowledge of RCD (Residual Current Device) Maintenance and you have good IT skills.

• Liaising with the development departments within our client’s organisation to provide input into design and assisting with the timely delivery of grounds maintenance services
• Attending Client Performance Meetings and meeting clients & residents on-site
• Dealing with compliments, complaints and performance improvement
• Providing monthly reports to senior management and ensuring weekly planners are completed
• Carrying out 4 and 8-weekly reviews, probationary appraisals and training with all new staff members as required and ensuring that HR receives all related documentation
• Training & inducting new staff on their routes
• Checking timesheets and submitting timesheet / pay information in a timely manner.
• Working closely with the HR team on all personnel issues including, recruitment, performance management, any variations to contracts, development and disciplinary procedures etc.

The successful Contracts Manager will have:
• A proactive individual with an excellent client facing manner with a strong customer focus
• Experience in a similar role for more than 5 years
• Well-versed in all grounds maintenance methodologies and procedures
• Full UK Driving licence
• Self-motivation with the ability to use own initiative
• Excellent communication, administration, time management, organisational and IT skills
• Able to coordinate a team of operatives of different disciplines to achieve the best results
• Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate previous contract management experience within the FM Grounds Maintenance sector
• Reside within circa 30 minutes of Kings Lynn
• Team Player – with an Ability to create/maintain positive relationships with colleagues and customers
• Able to be flexible with working hours, including occasional early evening or weekend meetings

Working hours are usually 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. A fully expensed company vehicle with fuel card, a laptop and phone are provided.

Salary ranging between £32k-£36k dependant on experience, bonus, pension scheme, 28 days holiday (inc. Bank Holidays)
