I am currently recruiting for an Interim Director of Maintenance for a Glasgow based Housing Association. The role will be for around 3 months initially however potentially it will go on longer.

The role is to be responsible for the delivery of the repairs service, investment and compliance.

As an interim manager you will

• provide strategic leadership on asset matters and lead on effective procurement
• provide overall management for the repairs service
• liaise with contractors and follow up any issues/complaints
• provide reports for the management committee

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience at a similar level within social housing.

The role will be due to start at the beginning of December.

A maintenance operative carries the responsibility for the of the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliancy needed for the running of the site.

Summary of Responsibilities

To ensure that all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair and sensitive to the needs of the students being looked after
To provide, high professional standards of record keeping, and reports related to the site.
To participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems as necessary.
To undertake regular inspections and address works from contractors which fall below required standard.
To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations and inspection standards, relevant to core functions, for this type of establishment.
To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations for Environmental Health and the standards of the regulatory body for inspections
To take responsibility, and manage Maintenance you work loads , to provide effective and pro-active works
To liaise closely with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek the Facilities Manager’s regular assistance with technical matters on repair, maintenance or improvement projects.
To identify projects around the facility that will improve the image, functionality, operational or educational efficiency use of the facility for staff, students or visitors.
To ensure that projects are completed within programme, and that areas occupied by contractors / suppliers are left in good condition.
To manage the up keep of the grounds

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR - TITLE 32, WS-5801-10, you will plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand (also known as a Landscape Technician Charge Hand) to be responsible for the maintenance of communal grounds including grass cutting, trimming hedges and weeding flower beds. It will be your role to provide supervisory support to the wider team and ensure the grounds look presentable for any visitors.

A company van and tools will be provided which you will be responsible for and ensure they are kept in good working condition. So, if you are looking for a new challenge then this may be the role for you.

The role of Grounds Maintenance Chargehand will include:

- Provide supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
- Use equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance

Skills and experiences:

- A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
- Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
- Some experience of supervising others
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
