We have a temporary pricing specialist role available within DS Smith's Hinckley site.
DS Smith is an internationally recognised organisation known for providing
sustainable packaging solutions.
Role: Commercial Pricing Specialist
Location: DS Smith Packaging, Dodwells Rd, Hinckley LE10 3BX
After training, Mon and Tue office based and Wed-Fri work from home
Rate: £17.41ph (33.5k per annum)
Contract length: 6 months initially
Shift Patterns: Mon-Thu 09:00-17:00 and Fri 09:00-16:00 (37 hours per week)
Start: ASAP (within 1-2 weeks)
Responsibilities:
● Understanding and delivering the accurate costing of bespoke packaging
products in a fast turnaround for the sales team
● Completing a spec for unique packaging solutions in order to generate a cost
● Liaising with the sales team to confirm missing or additional information
● Raising product specifications within the in house system
● Providing quotations daily for generic packaging products
● Assisting the commercial finance manager with tender activity
● Managing and prioritising own workload to ensure deadlines are met
● Ensuring that any costings given are in line with competitors and can be fully
explained
● Supporting the commercial finance manager with any other duties as required
and relevant to the department
Essential requirements:
● Previous experience within a costing environment (manufacturing sector an
advantage)
● Strong IT literacy skill especially with MS Excel
● Ability to plan and prioritise own day
● Strong attention to detail
. Good verbal and written communication skill
● Ability to work to tight deadlines
Desirable requirements:
● Driving licence and use of a car
● Knowledge/experience of costing within a packaging environment
