We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Technician / Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Technician with previous experience with electro-mechanical assemblies such as connecting wiring harnesses, connector crimping and soldering and fault finding.

Working as the Production Technician / Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Technician you will be part of the Operations Team, reporting to the Production Manager, and will be involved with the in-process inspection and assembly operations for the in-house manufactured laboratory equipment.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Production Technician / Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Technician will include:

• Connecting wiring harness

• Small connector crimping and soldering

• Mechanical assembly

• Assembly of small tubing and fittings

• Reviewing manufacturing cell stock levels and quality

• Improvement of product assembly through exploring new methods

• Supporting production technicians with fault finding

• Reporting of slow processes and quality concerns to line managers

• Manage workload to achieve target


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in a production based role

• 2 A levels or National diploma / GNVQ level 3 (or equivalent)

• Experience with mechanical assemblies

• Able and willing to learn

• Able to work in a busy deadline driven environment.

• Able to multitask with an organised approach.

• Confident with Windows, Excel, Word.

• Ability to read engineering drawings

• You must hold a full driving license and have your own vehicle as there is no public transport to the site

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• Recording FRCs and certifying batches in R12 while maintaining an updated KANBAN system.
• Purchase necessary stationery and hardware for the production team according to the provided list.
• Ensuring that the plant effluent meets the standards set by the Environment Agency and Anglian Water.
• Ensure to frequently inspect consumables and general items utilised on E Site
• Maintain exceptional housekeeping standards on E-site and contribute to site BPI enhancements.

• A background in chemical manufacturing and knowledge of COMAH.
• Strong communication skills required to interact with daily contacts such as Production Manager, Procurement, and Logistics groups.
• Experience working independently; self-driven; strong work ethic and value organisation
• Proficient in computer skills Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as experience with plant services process control computer systems.
