The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Internal Communications Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team for a fixed term period of two years.
Taking a lead on the implementation of communication strategies that engage, excite, inform and inspire, you will be responsible for communicating key corporate announcements; creating and managing two-way engagement and internal communication channels and campaigns.
Braintree District Council is undergoing an enormous amount of change under its Fit for the Future programme, and the Communications team plays an important role in ensuring employees are kept informed and engaged. This role will be a key part of that in delivering structured, consistent communications about the programme.
Experience:
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in internal or corporate communications and in developing and delivering campaigns.
You will have excellent communication, project management and organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
You will also be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, and be proactive and flexible.

Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication plans that support business goals and employee engagement initiatives.
- Create, edit, and distribute high-quality content for various internal communication channels, including newsletters, intranet, emails, and social media.
- Deliver a proactive approach to internal communications through use of forward planning.
- Participate in the design and delivery of campaigns implementing and measuring their effectiveness.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver internal strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with HR to design and execute programs and campaigns that boost employee morale, recognition, and engagement.
- Assist in managing internal communications during crises or critical events, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
- Develop and manage feedback channels to gauge the effectiveness of internal communications and identify areas for improvement.
- Encourage best practice and innovation by benchmarking and understanding current trends and new developments in internal communication.
- Ensure all internal communications are consistent with the company's brand voice and values.
- Track and analyse the performance of internal communication initiatives, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
