To supervise & undertake decontamination duties in a busy NHS Hospital Sterile service department, assist managers and be part of team that provides a specialized decontamination of medical devices, contributing to the clinical care of the patient.



The post holder will ensure that the service is provided efficiently and in accordance with the department’s policies, procedures, and Quality Management System.



The post holder will contribute fully as part of the HSDU team to the full compliance of the department to Medical Devices Regulations - UK MDR 2002 and EN ISO 13485:2016.

T To supervise a team in the HSDU to ensure the daily team objectives are achieved.Ensuring receipt, disassembly, cleaning reassembly, packing, sterilisation & Portering of reusable medical devices, surgical instruments, and other complex medical equipment in accordance with policies and procedures in line with Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.

This post has been funded by the Greater Manchester Clinical Research Network to improve and facilitate recruitment of GMMH service users, their families, carers and staff to high quality research studies on the National Institute for Health Research Portfolio.

The post-holder will work with GMMH research units and clinical teams to maximise participant recruitment to NIHR portfolio studies utilising new and established systems and processes. This particular post initially includes a requirement to support recruitment to studies in Dementia. There will be a requirement to recruit to other projects later during the role depending on where recruitment support is needed.

The post holder will be a key member of the GMMH R&I team, providing ongoing support to the Dementia Research Centre to enable effective recruitment to clinical research studies related to the research units across the GMMH footprint. The post holder will liaise with the Brain Health Clinic, local clinical teams and study sponsors to support the delivery of study protocols and the service users involved. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that the research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the service users and will have a key role in providing and maintaining appropriate participant-focused environment to facilitate the production of good quality research.

Post holder will be expected to participate fully in their personal development and review process in order to achieve the objectives for this post. Although based at the Rawnsley Building (Central Manchester), post holders will be required to work across GMMH clinical services (including inpatient settings, community, and prisons).

Due to the development of our off site Ophthalmology services, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. We are looking for a Band 3, Assistant Ophthalmic Science practitioner to come join our Ophthalmic Imaging and Angiography department

The ideal candidate will be helping to provide a comprehensive, regional Ophthalmic Physiological Sciences Service to patients of all ages with diseases of the eye and visual ocular system.

Our Imaging team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the UK. We are consistently looking to improve and expand the range, provisions and standards of the diagnostic tests we provide.

Applicants for this role will be working closely with the Medical Retina, Uveitis and Glaucoma specialties of Ophthalmology.

This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, in a stimulating environment with high levels of support from an experienced and committed team of professionals. You must be flexible, have good attention to detail with a track record of working well in team setting. Experience of working in an ophthalmic unit would be beneficial.

Are you looking for your next temporary role within administration. We have an amazing opportunity as a Postgrduate Reserach Assistant based in the heart of Manchester City Centre. This role is a temporary 3 month assignment. Working full time, Monday to Friday 35 hours per week GBP13.32 an hour.

Your main duties for this role would be assisting with all administrative tasks.

• To assist the delivery of funders reporting activities.
• To generate bespoke correspondence, record replies and maintain accurate records as required.
• To assist with providing advice and guidance to supervisors and to support colleagues on appropriate use of project costs / RTSG accounts.
• To act as the first point of contact
• To assist with the operational duties, required for event management
• To support with generic FSE related email inbox(es)
• To assist with specific tasks, as and when required

What skills are required from you to fulfil this role:

• Attention to detail.
• Flexible and responsive to customer needs and able to provide information and guidance, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
• Good organisational skills, and able to prioritise work in a busy environment.
• Digital literacy, with a familiarity with standard IT packages.
• Relevant knowledge and experience of working with administrative processes.
