What skills and experience we're looking for

Main purpose of the role

To work with teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEN pupils. Providing learning support to pupils who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning, such as those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.

Core responsibilities and tasks

Key duties:

1. Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff e.g. reading, crafts etc and provide feedback to the teacher

2. Work with pupils on therapy or care programmes, designed and supervised by a therapist/care professional

3. Support pupils to understand instructions support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils

4. Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task

5. Attend to pupils’ personal needs including toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating, as well as help with social, welfare and health matters, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate Physically assist pupils in activities (may involve lifting, where mobility is an issue)

6. Prepare and clear up the learning environment and resources and contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils’ work.

Additional Support Needs Assistants at this level may also undertake any or all of the following:

1. Administer medication in accordance with an agreed plan under direction of healthcare practitioner and following appropriate training

2. Update pupil records

3. Support children’s learning through play

4. Assist with break-time supervision including facilitating games and activities

5. Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits

6. Support pupils in using basic ICT

7. Invigilate exams and tests

8. Undertake moving and handling activities as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• Working at or towards national occupational standards (NOS) in Supporting Teaching and Learning (core and relevant optional units as required)
• Knowledge and compliance with policies and procedures relevant to child protection and health and safety.

About The Role
Excellent opportunity as a Night Concierge to provide an overnight presence at Mildmay House, Liverpool making sure our residents are well and our building is secure.

The difference you will make as a Support Worker

This role is part of RSAP. This service supports people who have experienced homelessness and are now living in temporary accommodation for up to 3 years.

You will be located in Powerhouse, Liverpool but spend time in the community visiting customers in their own properties, providing housing-related support to help them move on to more permanent accommodation.

You will provide support to our customers in a variety of ways. For example, connecting them with employability coaches and other support agencies, helping them manage their money, signing up for benefits or to move on to a more permanent home.

It will be your job to help boost their confidence and support them on their journey as they rebuild their lives. Through all of this you will need to keep records of everything, so there is some admin to do. At times this role is tough, but most of the time it can be incredibly rewarding. You will need to be resilient, empathetic, and able to leave your work at work and not take it home with you.

• Experience of working with vulnerable people
• Experience of delivering structured support and risk management

The Role:

In the role of a Service Delivery Manager, you will be in control of the SEN Transport and Social Care Transport Operation, including a team of 7 officers and a Principal officer. The role reports directly to the Head of Passenger Transport and Fleet

To accurately carry out formula and measurement checks on extemporaneous products following set procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met. To support the replacement of and accurately check the dispensing of the Hospital Emergency Drug Boxes to ensure a safe and effective service. To carry out label checks for Accident and Emergency out of hour dispensing packs, ensuring information is clear and correct and that item is labelled appropriately. To provide support to all areas of the pharmacy department as and when required.To answer queries of a complex technical nature from a wide range of staff groups, either in the pharmacy or on the ward. To answer queries from the public referring appropriate queries to a senior member of the pharmacy team. To undertake patient counselling, providing clear and concise information to patients/carers regarding the safe and effective use of their medication to ensure understanding and compliance. This will include providing information of a more complex nature and providing demonstrations where applicable, both in the dispensary and on the wards. To participate in the Near Patient Pharmacy scheme on assigned wards. This will include daily patient medication reviews, medicines reconciliation, assessment of patients own drugs (PODS), discussing any clinical problems with the ward pharmacist and arranging for appropriate supplies of medications. To undertake Continuing Professional Development in order to keep pharmaceutical clinical and technical knowledge current, ensure best practice and comply with requirements for entry on the pharmacy technician register.

The successful candidate will join an established team of Upper GI cancer surgeons, working within the RLUH providing an Upper GI cancer resection service for Liverpool and surrounding areas. This comprises a population in excess of 1.5 million patients, and generates approximately 150 resections per year. This includes patients from across the region including patients from the catchment area of North and South Liverpool, the Wirral, St Helens and Knowsley, North Cheshire, Southport, Chester and the Isle of Man. Expected duties will include an active role in maintaining and developing the elective Upper GI cancer service, whilst contributing equitably to the out of hours service; for both elective and emergency activity. The unit facilitates mentorship and two-consultant operating where necessary, particularly in the early years of Consultant appointment. The new appointee will have equitable working conditions to colleagues within both the Upper GI unit and wider surgical department. The Upper GI unit works as a team with a consultant ward round every day, 365 days a year. Postoperative and emergency patients are looked after by the consultants within the Upper GI team. Therefore when a colleague is on leave or at a different hospital site there is no requirement for cover. There is a weekly planning meeting after the Specialist MDT meeting (SMDT) to facilitate staffing of clinical activities.
