Main Duties 1. To support the timely and accurate provision of data and information related to the admission and discharge of all patients with designated inpatient areas across a 7-day service. 3. To support the recording and management of referrals into the Integrated Coordination Hub related to patients who need to be considered for D2A bed allocation. 4. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit two Consultant Lower Limb Arthroplasty Surgeon to increase capacity and improve delivery of high quality surgery to patients referred from General Practitioners, Triage services and other Secondary or Tertiary care providers. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital has been designated as a Major Revision Centre (MRC) in the reconfiguration of revision arthroplasty services and is therefore looking for two members to join the team. One post will have a specific remit to help build the revision knee service and we would be delighted to consider existing revision knee consultants who wishes to relocate to an MRC or a highly motivated fellowship trained individual who is looking to build a complex revision practice. The second post holder would be experienced in complex hip and knee revision surgery and would complement the experience of the current team delivering primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. You would join the Arthroplasty group within the Large Joints department. The current team comprises 11 colleagues with 3 having a particular interest in the management of Young Adult Hip conditions.

The individual appointed to the post will have competed orthopaedic training, and have completed or be undertaking a training Fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty surgery. Flexible and less than full-time working can be accommodated.

The job plan is based upon 10 PA’s initially.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate would undertake 2 all day, (2.5 PA) theatre lists per week, with a further 2 out-patient clinics (2 PA). There is a fixed MDT (0.5 PA). The Trust currently offers 1.5 PA for supporting professional activities to cover mandatory training, CPD, preparation for appraisal, attendance at audit etc.

A further 1 SPA is offered in recognition of other SPA activities that support improvement in patient care, service delivery and efficiency, or other activities as specified in the job planning policy. This can be agreed at any time although it is anticipated the candidate would be unlikely to take a lead role within the first 6 months of starting. Alternatively Direct Clinical Care can be increased to 8.5 PA’s with 1.5 PA’s for core SPA. There is significant scope for flexibility within the Job-planning process. Some flexibility on operating theatres and/or days would be expected but most clinics will be on a fixed day.

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is seeking to recruit a Consultant Peripheral Nerve and Spasticity Surgeon into a Substantive post. This would be treating elective Peripheral nerve condition and spasticity of the upper limb. At the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, the Consultant would join the Small Joints team which includes six other hand surgeons. The expectation would be that the post-holder would have the relevant skills and knowledge in the generality of peripheral nerve surgery and experience in brachial plexus and spasticity surgery.

There would be support to develop a related research portfolio and the trust will endeavour to support any ongoing research already associated with the applicant.

A multidisciplinary working with the hand therapy team and surgical colleagues is expected within the department.

The department undertakes a comprehensive range of hand surgery with surgeons having specialist interests in spasticity, peripheral nerve and wrist pathologies. Paediatric patients are not treated in the trust.

The job plan is based upon 10 PA with potential to review and increase upon appointment.

The post will includes

- Twice weekly full day Elective Hand surgery theatre lists (5DCC)

- Twice weekly Elective Hand surgery clinics (2DCC)

- 1.5 SPA and 1 admin session are provided with possibility to increase the SPAs dependent on additional roles undertaken

- 0.5 DCC are expected to be made up by working evening or weekend sessions on an adhoc basis to make the post up to 10PA per week over the year.

If a larger research element preferable due to existing grants then this can be negotiated on appointment and either additional to the 10 PAs or as a replacement to DCC. Consultants within the Trust are expected to complete job plan diaries when required to ensure appropriate remuneration.

MAINDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide a comprehensive assistant secretarial service to clinicians and clinical teams in conjunction with the Senior Team Secretaries.
2. To deputise for the Personal Medical Secretaries on an ad hoc basis, for annual and sick leave.
3. To assist/deputise for the Personal Medical Secretaries on an ad hoc basis regarding admissions, waiting lists, ad hoc ward attenders and cancellations ensuring hospital policies are adhered to, with appropriate training.
4. Receive phone calls from patients, relatives and GP’s. Ensure they are dealt with in a timely manner or passed to the appropriate Secretary as required, maintaining the highest possible customer care at all times.
5. Communicate with other sections within patient access and other departments as required.
6. Type clinics and reports into PAS/CRIS system as requested by the Personal Medical Secretaries.
7. Liaise with hospitals and GP surgeries for information.
8. Photocopying and faxing documents as required
9. To open and distribute post, prioritising any urgent post and ensuring relevant documentation is attached. In addition to acting promptly and appropriately to all e-mail correspondence.
10. Track case notes in and out of departments.
11. Ensure loose filing is amalgamated with case notes within the department or health records.
12. Liaise with appropriate staff in making routine appointments or cancellations as directed by the Personal Medical Secretaries.
13. Supports Team Leader to induct and support junior members of the team

Platform Property Care are expanding their Mobile Caretaking team and we are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join us. As a Caretaker, you will deliver day to day caretaking service of our estates, blocks and schemes in Birmingham and surrounding areas.

What could you be doing?

You will carry out a range of activities to ensure our properties and the surrounding areas remain clean, tidy, safe, secure and in good condition. You will be helping to make our communal properties great places to live.

Day to day tasks will include keeping communal areas clean and hazard free, leaf clearance, litter picking, removing graffiti to maintenance and minor repairs and dealing with fly tipping.

This is a mobile role, mainly based covering our sites in Birmingham and surrounding areas so you would need to be based locally. There would also be a need to travel to our different sites throughout the Birmingham area as required so a driving licence is essential. Access to a company van is provided so there is no need to use your own vehicle during the working day.

This is a full-time role working 35 hours a week Monday – Friday with core hours of 8- 15:30 with no weekend working.

We want somebody who has:

A positive outlook with a flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work as part of a team

You will need a keen eye for detail and be committed to achieving high standards

Ideally you will have experience of working in a customer-focused environment undertaking cleaning and caretaking duties

Good IT skills as you will be using an iPad to access a portal to log all required repairs and completion of health and safety checks

A full driving licence

This role also requires a Basic DBS check.
