Position Summary

This internship will be located in Noblesville, Indiana. Interns will undertake short-term responsibilities in a variety of groups including electric distribution design, distribution system planning, distribution system operations, distribution asset management or distribution project management. Interns will work with staff engineers to manage/maintain equipment, assist with grid planning and sectionalization, complete designs for equipment install/replacement, and provide oversight of the distribution system.  The student selected will be assigned to specific duties once on board. In addition of the Microsoft suite of software, other software applications utilized by electric utilities will be used. In addition to working within your discipline, you may be asked to work across a multi-engineering discipline platform.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program

The Baltimore Convention Center wishes to research and then produce thorough documentation surrounding its public art collection. Additionally, as the Convention Center will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2029, the Intern will start to identify historic photos and documents from within the city and agency archives and propose a list of assets that should be digitized in preparation for a retrospective.

Interns at the Baltimore Convention Center are hired with a specific set of tasks or project in mind.  The goal is to create meaningful job experiences for the student while providing the agency tangible outcomes that leave lasting impact.  The position will work closely with all departments, as well as relevant entities to further the assigned work such as the Baltimore City Archives and the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts

The Intern is a part-time hourly position that will report to leadership within the Sales, Services, and Marketing Department.

Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek averaging 20-30 hours a week. The work of this position takes place in a predominantly seated work location but will require occasional walking, bending, and lifting items no more than 50lbs. Occasional offsite visits to pertinent locations will be required, however a personal vehicle is not required.

Review archival documentation surrounding the history of public art at the Baltimore Convention Center and culminate pertinent information to summarize their research.

Identify and research pertinent artists and their works as it relates to the agency’s collection. This may include contacting the artist or their representative on behalf of the agency.  interviewing pertinent stakeholders and producing documents that will be used to create content for the organization’s website and self-guided tours.

Engaging the management and curatorial teams at the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts to align agency information with that of the City’s public art collection records.

Work alongside the agency’s marketing department to design web content surrounding the Center’s public art.

Identify relevant photos and documents from within the city and agency archives to the creation and operation of the BCC since its opening in 1979.

Propose a list of archival items that should be digitized in preparation for a retrospective.

Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements – Current enrollment in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate program or pursuing a master’s degree. While not required, a focus of studies surrounding library sciences, art or art curation, or marketing/communications is preferred.

What You’ll Do 

This position supports DEN’s Airline and Commercial Affairs Division with planning and executing a variety of functions as well as projects and programs across the division with an impact airport wide. This position reports to the Airline and Commercial Affairs Aviation Program Manager, in addition to supporting the Senior Vice President of Airline and Commercial Affairs, division leaders and staff throughout the Airline Affairs team. The Airline and Commercial Affairs Team includes both Air Service Development and Airline Affairs.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Planning and executing a variety of administrative functions to the Airline and Commercial Affairs Aviation Program Manager, Senior Vice President of Airline and Commercial Affairs, division leaders, and staff throughout the Airline Affairs team.

• Support the development and implementation of construction and development projects and programs across the division to include but not limited to conducting research, analyzing data, preparing reports, space governance, meeting minutes and action items, recommending feasible solutions in areas that require attention or change, and implementing approved recommendations.

• Assists Program Manager in tracking deadlines and suspense dates related to ongoing construction projects.

• Supports the Aviation Program Manager and Airline and Commercial Affairs Team in participating in Airport planning meetings.

• Supports the Airline Affairs Division with tenant compliance throughout the facility.

• Supports Aviation Program Manager in Request for Proposals (RFP) process.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to administrative functions, projects, and programs while working with other division key roles including Permitting Manager, Office of Human Resources, Workday, and Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) Administrator.

• Works with a variety of software systems to include Workday, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive).

• Handles various purchasing and accounting activities including Purchase Card (P-card) authority, travel arrangements, employee reimbursements, and approves expenditures for the entire division.

• Conducts routine office management including division mail, organizational charts, workstation assignments, email distribution lists, office supplies, parking validation and visitor coordination.

• Maintains and updates division standard operating procedures in coordination with division leaders.

• Serves as a liaison and central point of contact between Airline and Commercial Affairs and other DEN division administrative staff.

• Participates in and leads a variety of special projects.

• Other assignments as necessary to support division programs, projects, and initiatives.
