The Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist will act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the multi-professional team, patients and carers within their specialist service. The post holder will have a responsibility to develop this specialist area of practice. This will include the management of a caseload of patients, as appropriate. The post holder will have an important role with patients, their families and other clinicians in raising awareness of signs and symptoms of arrhythmias and the possible diagnostic and treatment options. His or her own working practice should be developed to a level whereby the nurse specialist can directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients with arrhythmias including those requiring electrophysiological (EP) procedures, implantable cardiovertor defibrillators (ICD’s), permanent pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation therapy devices, implantable loop recorders, syncope and POTS.
• Participate in running arrhythmia clinics including rapid access, pre-admission, new patient and follow up clinics.
• Demonstrate clinical decision-making skills in referring patients for further tests or discharge to GP.
• Work towards developing advanced practice functions including clinical history taking, non-medical prescribing and physical examinations skills.
• Demonstrate skills in interpretation of electrocardiograms to inform rapid access arrhythmia and syncope assessment, management and pre-admission clinics
• Develop and employ robust referral criteria for ensuring patients with identified arrhythmias receive prompt, appropriate investigations and treatment in the appropriate settin
• Co-ordinate the development and review of current, comprehensive health information for arrhythmia patients and their carers. In addition to ensuring full understanding of complex cardiac conditions, the information is relevant to age, level of understanding, culture and language in conjunction with patients, their families, clinical staff and patients info service
• Provide continuity of patient care on a daily basis by following the patient’s journey from pre admission/admission, discharge and follow up/continuous support.

This Locum Consultant post has been created to compliment and strengthen the existing team of surgeons working within the ENT Department at University Hospitals of Coventry & Warwickshire. We are seeking an enthusiastic colleague to join the team. The successful applicant must be committed to working flexibly within the department and will be expected to participate in the management of a General ENT Practice.

The University Hospitals Coventry Warwickshire NHS Trust is a teaching hospital and Major Trauma Centre which is at the centre of the Warwick Medical School where excellent research facilities are available. There is also a close affiliation to Coventry University and as such a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research is essential and excellent opportunities exist for those interested in joint academic appointments.

· Provide, and develop further with clinical colleagues ENT services for the Trust in collaboration with colleagues in all disciplines including primary and tertiary care, where appropriate, to provide an integrated service for patients.



· Take ongoing responsibility for patients under his/her care.



· Provide a consultation service and advisory service to other clinical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust and Primary Care.



· Participate in the development of the ENT service, treatment protocols and guidelines and the greater knowledge in the management of ENT conditions.



· Participate in the on-call rota (1:12 shared with Warwick hospital) to ensure that appropriate emergency services are provided out-of-normal working hours. Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Service (CWPS) have Pathology Laboratories across three Hospital sites: Coventry Hospital, George Eliot Hospital and Warwick Hospital offering services to 1.8 million patients across the region.

Departments within CWPS include Chemistry and Immunology, Haematology, Microbiology, Virology and Molecular Pathology, Histopathology, Pre-Analytics including Phlebotomy, and Mortuary services. With a dedicated workforce of over 500 staff, CWPS provide a range of tests across many different analysers and equipment, using state-of-the-art technology and specialist techniques.

We having an exciting opportunity for a Histology Improvement Lead to join the team. The Histology Department has staff across the 2 Hospital sites (Warwick Hospital and University Hospital, Coventry (UHC)) who perform an array of histological techniques including dissection, embedding, microtomy, QC, special staining, immunohistochemistry, and digital scanning.

The Department is currently in a procurement with new equipment expected to be implemented next year. There is also a Digital Pathology system being introduced later this year at UHC. There is also on-going work on the Histology 6-point and you will lead on implementing actions from the plan as well as from Deep Dives conducted with staff.

You will be supporting the Cellular Pathology Manager and Senior Pathology Managers in horizon scanning and seeking new opportunities to transform Cellular Pathology including review of external trends applicable to service and implementation of these transformation opportunities.

You willlead on the development of plans for improvement in Histology, be able to make clear recommendations in complex scenarios, and be responsible for process management by resolving complex scientific and technical issues to ensure continuity of service.

We are looking for a dynamic, organised individual who is able to multitask, communicate with a wide array of staff, complete tasks/projects, as well as someone who is able to work well within a team and who can also work autonomously when needed. Knowledge of Cellular Pathology is essential.

This is a training role within the Community Eating Disorder Service. This role is a 2-year fixed term appointment leading to a permanent Psychological Therapist post at the end of this period if the postgraduate diploma programme is completed successfully.

The post-holder will work within the service providing formal psychological interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post–holder to provide cognitive behavioural therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E) to clients with a diagnosis of an eating disorder and related complexities for which CBT-E is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for 4 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the fifth day.
