Human Resources Assistant (Temporary up until March 2025)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy and friendly Human Resource Operations Team. You will provide frontline administrative support and guidance on a range of HR matters across the Council/HSCP. Experience working in a similar environment is essential. You will report directly to the HR Operations Team Leader and be responsible for a day to day workload to achieve a comprehensive HR Operations service.
Your remit will include: extracting data and analysing HR/Payroll reports; assisting the team with voluntary severance exercises, processing pension and retirement applications, the redeployment process; participating in recruitment and selection processes including attendance at interviews; disclosure Scotland/PVG process; advising and supporting managers on a daily basis relating to attendance management and occupational health, including attendance at absence review meetings, as and when required.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of the ongoing development of the Human Resource function as a strategic part of the organisation. To succeed you will need to be self-motivated and customer focussed, possessing strong interpersonal and organisational skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels. You will be computer literate particularly Microsoft Office packages (i.e. Microsoft excel, word, outlook). Associate / Graduate Membership of CIPD or possession of Certificate in Personnel Practice, or equivalent is desirable.
This role will provide you with skills and experience to develop an exciting career pathway within a Human Resources environment.

Vetting by Disclosure Scotland
If you work in regulated work (children and/or protected adults) you will be subject to obtaining a satisfactory PVG. A small number of posts require a Standard or Basic Disclosure check and the majority of all other posts will complete a Criminal Convictions Form. All disclosure checks are obtained via Disclosure Scotland. If you are the successful candidate you will be required to pay the cost of the disclosure check required for your post.
Regulatory Bodies
If your post requires registration with a Regulatory Body such as HCPC or SSSC etc., you are required to obtain and maintain registration including paying any fees for HCPC. As part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are no longer required to pay SSSC fees.
