We are looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to work onRowanWard at Prospect Park Hospital.
• Offer assessments and interventions (both individual and group) to patients and carers.
• Develop resources andwritereports to support your clinical work.
• Support the ward Counselling/Clinical Psychologist with the running of team formulation sessions,teachingand staff support sessions.
• Gather background information on patients who have recently been admitted to Rowan Ward.
• Input into Rowan Wards’ weekly Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting to support care planning for each patient.
• Be a valued member of the Quality Improvement team on Rowan Ward which lead on service development for the ward. As part of this work, take part in regular data analysis and accessible presentation of data.
• At times you might be asked to work on other wards at the hospital and/or to support the wards with non-Psychology tasks; only when this is needed for the safe running of the wards.

The “must haves” for this role:
1. You will be eligible for membership with the British Psychological Society and have an upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology. You will have experience working with people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
2. With excellent communication and people skills, you will reassure those in your care, discussing distressing and sensitive situations in a kind, calm and respectful manner.
3. Calm, confident and assertive in emotionally demanding situations, you will be astute at setting and maintainingprofessional boundaries and will be efficient at dealing with distressing or hostile situations and behaviour.
4. Self-motivated and confident working without direct supervision, you will show initiative and a determination to support patients and their families through creative engagement.
