Key Duties To accompany patients where clinical support is indicated To chaperone patients as required To undertake basic observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight measurements, record and report results to qualified staff To ensure that patients receive care appropriate to their needs To assist in the set up and clean down of clinics spaces, trolleys and disposal of clinical waste To respond appropriately to clinical emergencies To answer telephone calls and take messages informing appropriate persons of the call To assist in transfer of patients using correct manual handling techniques and equipment as required To report to qualified staff, without delay, any change in a patients clinical condition or any concern expressed by a patient about nursing care or medical treatment Demonstrate knowledge of Health and Safety requirements at work in order to maintain a safe environment Maintain personal and professional development Undertake mandatory and essential to role training as required To always act in a manner that promotes positive working relationships and maintains the professional image of the trust Communication and Relationships The Healthcare Assistant's relationship with both staff and patients should be discreet, bearing in mind that all information regarding patients must be kept confidential Report to the nurse in charge of department matters of concern relating to patients and the department environment Answer the telephone, refer to appropriate person Be aware of the need to greet visitors to the department and ascertain the reason for their visit To ensure the privacy and dignity of patients at all times Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of health and safety at work in order to maintain a safe environment To attend departmental meetings as appropriate Administrative Reception and telephone duties Basic computer skills Stock control and ordering Cleaning Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the area and equipment as instructed ad complete all necessary paperwork relating to this in line with trust guidelines

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Working 1:1 with a pupil.Undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of individuals and groups of children, including pupils with educational, physical or emotional special needs.
To monitor individual pupil's progress, achievements and condition and report these to the designated supervisor as appropriate.
Actively engage in the pre-determined educational activities and work programmes and to assist in personal and individual development of individuals or groups of pupils.
To support the teacher within the classroom where appropriate for the welfare and progress of the pupils.
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
Good standard of education – Level 2 (or equivalent) English & Maths
Experience of working with children of relevant age.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children.
Working knowledge of National/Foundation Stage curriculum.
