North Bristol NHS Trust is looking to appoint Senior Clinical Fellows at ST3 level or above in Stroke for 12 months. Positions commencing Feb/March 2025.

For those who have completed CT/IM level medical training and gained or nearly completed MRCP, these posts will provide registrar level experience and training in stroke and hence be a springboard for NTN applications in neurology or other specialties where experience in neurology or stroke play a significant part.

Technical and TrainingUnderstanding of MHRA Managing Medical Devices, Medical Device Regulations and other appropriate legislations and guidelines relevant to medical devices.Perform specialist technical services for complex and patient critical medical devices such as acceptance testing, planned preventative maintenance, calibration and repairs for Anaesthetic machines, Ventilators, Transport Ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP devices, Insufflators.Ensure required planned preventative maintenance and repairs are completed within timely manner in line with CES KPIs and escalate issues when required.Participate in On -call rota, providing specialist medical device support during weekends and bank holidays.Provide expert advice, guidance and training relating medical devices to clinical users, speciality leads.Ensure device asset register is accurate and up to date for specialist medical devices.Ensure technical and mandatory training is up to date and keep accurate training records.Monitor stock levels and complete stock takes as required by the Trust.Investigate required regulatory notices and incidents and implement agreed corrective actions as directed by Medical Device Safety officer.Support the Service Head in engineering training of junior technicians and apprenticeships.Participate in medical device training for clinical users as specified by Service Head & Clinical Equipment Training Co-ordinator. CommunicationThe post holder, will need to understand, communicate complex and sometimes sensitive medical device related information to;- Managerial, Clinical and Technical staff, within CES, the Trust and community healthcare organisations- External suppliers of goods and services- Line Managers- Other team members- Logistic staff Organisation and PlanningPlan and prioritise own workload.Perform routine servicing, calibration, acceptance and repair work with technicians, clinical staff and suppliers to ensure all devices are serviced and repaired in a timely manner.Exceptional time management and use of planning and organisational tools to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. Service Development and QualityActively take part in quality and service improvement projects supporting Service heads not only within CES but across the Trust.Support the Quality manager and internal auditors in the implementation of ISO9001:2015 Quality management system.Address assigned corrective actions for any non-conformances and Datixs related to the section. Financial and ResourcesMonitor spare parts and minimum stock levels for a wide range of medical devices ensuring prudent use of departmental budget.Participation in stocktakes.Review the order progress and escalate any delays following up with the suppliers. Information ResourcesMaintain accurate and comprehensive records of equipment maintenance and service schedules on CES equipment management database in accordance with CES Quality System.Use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Health & SafetyWork with CES Health and Safety lead and take on a H&S keyworker role as assigned by the Service head.ProfessionalRegularly update specialist engineering knowledge through in- house or external training.Monitor technological trends.OtherWork outside normal hours on occasion when required.Perform other appropriate duties as assigned by the line manager.Provide support and assistance to other CES teams.Ensure workshops are kept clear and tidy and efficiently managing the limited space.

In collaboration with service users, parents/carers, referrers and the multi-agency network supporting the child/young person, to be responsible across the service for facilitating and ensuring the development and review of complex comprehensive care plans, therapeutic intervention goals, and case formulation. To provide consultation to the multi-agency network supporting the child/young person and their parents/carers, including social care, health, education, and criminal justice professionals. To provide training to a broad range of professionals. To ensure appropriate record keeping. To support data collection, audit, and evaluation as appropriate.
