University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) has one of the largest maternity services in the UK, providing maternity care across Derbyshire and into Staffordshire.

We want to provide woman-centred, family friendly care and offer a range of models of midwifery and obstetric care provision. This includes midwife-led care, continuity of carer models, and specialist care provided by our obstetric teams for women with more complex needs, as well as community midwifery services.

As manager you will provide leadership and management skills to our intrapartum services. You will be required to work clinically to maintain competency and to support professional development within the team. As part of this role you will also be required to support the senior midwife for labour ward and provide support to deputy senior midwives.

This is a full-time position to provide the managerial support and leadership to the service, however there is flexibility in working hours to support your development and your own wellbeing .

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic lead midwife for Intrapartum Care. We are looking for an individual who has experience of managing and leading a team, is committed to continuous development and improvement.

You will work closely with the whole multidisciplinary team including the obstetric labour ward lead consultant, anaesthetic labour ward lead anaesthetist, theatre matron, neonatal lead consultant for neonates, senior midwife for labour ward, intrapartum matron and the senior midwifery team across both sites and support staff in the deliverance of exceptional care together.

At UHDB around 9,000 babies are born across our two sites each year at Royal Derby Hospital (RDH) and Queens Hospital Burton (QHB). We provide antenatal and postnatal care for 11,500 women each year and, at RDH, we offer an alongside birth centre. We support women through low and high-risk care pathways, and some specialty pathways like diabetes and cardiology.

Details of UHDB sites
We have three wards across two sites, with a total of 88 beds for antenatal, postnatal and induction of labour.
At Royal Derby Hospital there are:
• 17 delivery rooms including one pool room and bereavement suite.
• Four bedded Midwife led birth centre.
• Four bedded Obstetric Enhanced Care area and a two bedded assessment bay
Queens Hospital Burton has seven delivery rooms including one pool room and one bereavement suite.
Samuel Johnson Community Hospital is currently does not provide intrapartum care but runs as a community midwifery hub.

This is a fixed term post for University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust based at Derbyshire Childrens at Royal Derby Hospital. This contractor offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development and due to continued success and accelerated growth, they are looking to onboard a Senior Estimator to join their team.


Your new role
As Senior Estimator you will be based at their Derby office and be responsible for, but not limited to, preparing tenders and estimates, maintaining and updating tender records, assisting with the approvals process, identifying risks and opportunities during the tender process as well as conducting site visits.


What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will be able to estimate from first principles and be well-versed with NEC form of contracts and CDM regulations. In addition, you will have previous experience within the water and/or utilities sectors, ideally working on large design and build infrastructure contracts, and be able to communicate effectively with senior management. Finally, you will have previous experience producing high-value and high-quality tender submissions.
