Our client are a large Contractor, based in Kent London offering innovative, high quality refurbishment to Social Housing projects.

They provide a tailored service to their clients on interior and exterior projects and are proud of the level of service their clients receive and as such are looking for an individual that pays attention to detail and takes pride in their work.

My client are actively on the lookout for a Senior Estimator who has previous experience of working in a social housing refurbishment environment on major planned works projects.

The Role:

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following;

• Ensure the contractors HSE&Q standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are adhered to at all times.
• Manage the coordination and preparation of tender documentation.
• Develop awareness of client's processes and procedures for bid evaluation.
• Effectively plan tender documentation and pricing information.
• Prepare tenders from architect's drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, pre-priced schedule of rates supplied by the client.
• Understand business development and the bidding market place including competitor environment and market forces (regional variation).
• Attend meetings such and assist in preparation of contract mobilisation plans and provide insight into the details of the tender.
• Manage tender process to seek and establish project prices from sub-contractors.
• Evaluate, engage and negotiate on price documents, assess for accuracy and confirm best value on price and service quality.

Essential Qualifications:

• Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
• Must have previous experience as a Senior Estimator in a Social Housing refurbishment environment.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and keen to extend knowledge on software packages.
• Good data interrogation skills
• Organisation and project management skills, able to prioritise.
• Working knowledge of marketing and economic factors.
• Sound knowledge of building construction/maintenance techniques and materials.
• Good legal/contractual knowledge
• Valid driving licence

Our client, a leading contractor within the water sector, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to support critical projects within the Southern Water framework across North Kent.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical engineering aspects of water infrastructure projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and review detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and technical documentation for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil and electrical engineers, to deliver integrated project solutions.
• Provide technical expertise during the project lifecycle, from concept design through to commissioning.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, ideally within the water sector or related infrastructure industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, pipelines, and treatment plant equipment.
• Familiarity with Southern Water frameworks or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is an advantage.

Senior Engineer

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of water treatment solutions for a major project. You will provide technical expertise, lead engineering teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

As a Senior Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical guidance and expertise on water treatment processes, technologies, and equipment
• Supervise all works to ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained
• Ensure all Risk Assessments and Methodology Statements are in place
• Developing conceptual designs, detailed engineering drawings, and specifications for water treatment systems
• Be able to identify any design issues and raise these to the attention of the Project Manager and Commercial Team whilst providing solutions
• Diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, identifying potential risks, and implementing solutions to optimise performance
• Maintain programme and identify opportunities
• Ensuring projects comply with all relevant water treatment regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements
• Communicating effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear understanding of project requirements and progress
• Maintain a full and accurate daily site diary, including any specialist attendance and any changes/ variations

What we are looking for:

• A proven track record as a Senior Engineer or similar role within the water treatment industry
• Recognised Civil Engineering or Site Management Qualification
• CSCS Management
• First Aid
• SSSTS
• A valid UK driving license

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in the Kent area, working with this well known specialist marines contractor on schemes across the Kent and Sussex areas. This contractor deals with all aspects of marines civil engineering and therefore you must have experience in this field.

The Role:

This is the perfect opportunity working with a well known marines civils contractor, who hold an excellent reputation.

This role will be site / office based ideally 5 days a week.

You will be responsible for:

• Procuring sub-contractors, agreeing prices and letting the packages
• Negotiating costs with various parties
• Drawing up contracts (NEC)
• Monthly reporting (CVR)
• Responsible for work package change control and management
• Dealing with any pricing variations
• Responsible for project re-measure
• Preparing final accounts
• Change management
• Managing subcontractors
• Working within an integrated team

Requirements:

• NEC 3 or 4 (Option B and E experience)
• Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying
• Excellent IT and maths skills are essential
• Attention to detail
• Excellent report writing and negotiation skills are essential
• Experience in - highways, bridges, infrastructure, environmental, frameworks and special works
