This twelve month post will provide an opportunity to gain sub-specialty experience and training at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. The Sheffield Ophthalmology Department is a progressive and forward-thinking department. It is exceptionally well equipped, including state-of-the-art ophthalmic imaging facilities. This fellowship provides extensive clinical and surgical experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of ocular oncology conditions including intraocular, ocular surface and adnexal tumours as well as experience in adnexal (lid, lacrimal and orbital) surgery. The fellow will provide intermediate grade support to the Consultant Ophthalmologists to their level of experience. There are opportunities to get involved with research and appointees will be actively encouraged to play a full part in the clinical, teaching and governance activities of the directorate. The successful candidates must be registered with the GMC with a licence to practise in line with the introduction of revalidation on 16 November 2009.
