The Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre will work alongside our existing services to provide care. Our amazing Maidstone Orthopaedic Centre (MOU) and Maidstone Short Stay Unit (MSSU) will all continue.

You will be working closely with management and other healthcare professionals, as well as supervising, supporting and developing junior staff, encouraging the delivery of high-quality care and experiences to patients.

Possession of excellent communication skills and being able to adapt to any situation is essential. You must be prepared to teach others your invaluable skills and you will have the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team whilst being a role model to others. Mentorship is desirable. Aiding the running of the theatres on a day to day basis, ensuring optimum utilisation within the theatre and ensuring a high standard of care is given is an essential part of the role. Deputising in the absence of Lead Practitioners will also be a part of the role. This post involves working with both adult and paediatrics patients.

The Community Rehabilitation Service provides a flexible range of mental health interventions to help clients complex mental health needs to manage their mental health more effectively and remain in their own homes. The team works in close partnership with Social Care and housing providers to ensure each client has the necessary resources available to enable them to engage in their rehab journey. Across the Community Rehabilitation teams, the clinical team consists of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, and VCSE Workers.

The successful applicants will care coordinate and provide rehabilitation nursing input to a defined caseload of individuals with complex mental health problems, they will deliver the therapeutic programme and provide support and supervision to other members of the staff team. The team delivers comprehensive, individualised treatment and recovery plans which include supporting clients to maintain their living environment, and encouraging and supporting them to have meaningful roles and purpose within their local communities.

Individuals will be expected to ensure the team is able provide input between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 according to the needs of the service, including working some evenings, weekends and public holidays.

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic nurse with critical care/acute care skills, as we are recruiting into an established nurse led Critical Care Outreach Service providing a 24/7 service across two hospital sites within Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

As a Critical Care Outreach Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the Critical Care and divisional speciality teams in the early recognition of deterioration, and timely escalation of care of acutely ill adults. This post requires someone with excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and the ability to prioritise your workload in sometimes challenging and difficult circumstances. We would welcome applicants who can demonstrate clinical proficiency/expertise in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.

You should also have an interest in teaching, excellent communication skills, be motivated and flexible, be a strong team player and have the ability to drive practice forward.

You would be expected to work on both sites although preferences can generally be accommodated. They would also be expected to rotate onto night duty.

The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Your new role
As a part of an emerging team, this will suit and require a self-starting environmentalist who is willing to work in multidisciplinary settings and can display a problem-solving and growth mindset. You will contribute ideas and specialist environmental skills, knowledge and experience to improve the functioning of the team and services, therefore contributing to their 3-year strategy.
You will help consolidate and expand the team and my clients' footprint in a diverse range of areas, including but not limited to regulatory programme planning and delivery, environmental assessment, asset management, environmental enabling of engineering and delivery schemes, biodiversity and catchment improvements, nature-based solutions and blue-green infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, programme and project deliverables as required by client or business need. Clients and frameworks include Welsh Water, South West Water, Yorkshire Water Southern Water, Sydney Water, Northumbrian Water, Canals and Rivers Trust, Scottish and Southern Energy Renewables, Ofwat, the EA and more. Workstream areas include WINEP, WRMP, DWMP, Price Review, ISO 55001 alongside more bespoke opportunities such as supporting clients develop and embed approaches to Nature-Based Solutions.
• Working alongside the Natural Assets team and other senior colleagues to consolidate and expand their environmental service offering.
• Travel to client offices as/when required.
• Liaising with internal colleagues, partners, clients and external stakeholders as part of deliverable and business development requirements (including tenders).
• Supporting the recruitment and the structural development of the growing environment team.
• Mentoring of and delegation to junior colleagues as/when required.

What you'll need to succeed

• An environmental-related undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree in a water-environment, ecology or sustainability specialism (advantageous).
• Working towards or have achieved Chartership (CEnv or C.WEM) with a relevant body (CIWEM, IEMA, CIEEM).
• Environmental sustainability experience within built and natural asset-owning organisations such as the water sector (advantageous), renewables and energy, land-use and transport.
• Proficient in Geospatial tools e.g qGIS, ArcGIS etc
• Knowledge and use of the BNG Metric.
• Knowledge and use of wider environmental and social valuation tools and methods e.g ENCA, CIRIA's BeST, ORVal.
• Evidenced experience of working with regulators (EA, NE) and stakeholders
• Evidenced experience of working within regulatory environmental legislation, consents and permit requirements.
• An understanding of the environmental receptor constraints and opportunities associated with engineering-infrastructure project planning and delivery.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Your new role
Based within the advisory team, you will develop and nurture your own client accounts and oversee delivery, providing environmental guidance and support for them to maintain compliance with legislation and enhance their environmental performance. This will include carrying out audits, applying for permits and licenses, advising on legislation, producing environmental procedures and documentation, and often act as the client's Environmental Manager.
Experience Required:

• Implementing, maintaining and/or auditing Environmental Management Systems to ISO14001 standards
• Environmental permitting, including preparing and submitting applications to the regulatory bodies
• Planning applications, preparing environmental statements for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Consultation and engagement with regulatory bodies (i.e. Local Authorities, Environment Agency)
• Carrying out environmental audits, including legal compliance
• Understanding UK and European environmental legislation and how this translates to clients
• Working knowledge of the construction, food and drink and manufacturing sectors
• Working with clients to identify cost effective ways to minimise waste and adopt sustainable solutions
• Problem solving and successfully managing projects to a conclusion within defined deadlines
• BREEAM, Construction Environmental Management Plans and CL:AIRE Materials Management Plans
• Delivery of accredited and non-accredited environmental training courses
• Desirable but not essential experience would be business development and accountability of delivering work in line with business plan targets
