We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join our friendly, inclusive and supportive team at the University’s School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies.

You will be part of a team who, working together, ensure the smooth and efficient running of the school’s administration. Your role will be responsible for the effective provision of administrative support for the financial, operational and resource management of the school’s large portfolio of research.

You will provide high-level professional and administrative support in all areas of research and operations, working closely with academic colleagues and collaboratively with other members of our administrative team. You will build strong working relationships and develop a comprehensive understanding of relevant policies and procedures, enabling you to advise colleagues and communicate School-wide as appropriate.

The role includes a variety of administrative, managerial and operational tasks including but not limited to: management and oversight of research finances, oversight of annual research operations and processes, procurement and event support, and team leadership.

You’ll be a flexible supportive team player who can work to tight deadlines and prioritise conflicting tasks. You will have the ability to oversee the work of other staff and to build relationships with various stakeholders. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are key.

Account Executive

Salary £25,000 - £27,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working model available - 2 days in office, 3 days at home

Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm (1 hour lunch)

Role

• Having detailed conversations and negotiating with customers
• Liaising with brokers to find the best options for the customer
• Sending costings to customers about the product's they require
• Using templates to send out costings using Microsoft PowerPoint to customers
• Building relationships with customers and stakeholders over the telephone
• Chasing customers for updates
• Speaking to customers about bookings and calculating a price when required
• Accurately inputting the orders into the system, ensuring that you all have the required information correctly

About you

• Strong IT skills, and confident with using Microsoft Office packages in particular an average level of PowerPoint is a necessity for this role
• Enjoys speaking to and developing relationships with customers
• Have strong negotiating, problem solving and analytical skills
• Must have previous customer service and administration experience
• Confident and professional, proactive and ambitious
• Good communication skills both over the telephone and in writing
• Great attention to detail skills
