A fantastic permanent opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Duty Social Work Team. The post holder will be a qualified and experienced Social Worker, have possession of a recognised Social Work qualification plus existing AMPH status and Social Work England registration.

The role requires a commitment to lone working on an out of hours rota basis for which and 20% pay enhancement is included in salary.

You must be able to coordinate and carry out assessments and implement statutory duties under the following acts: Mental Health Act 2003, Children Act 2004, National Assistance Act 1948, Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, Carers Recognition Act 1995, Disability Act, Human Rights Act, Care Standards Act 2000, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

The team operate on a duty rota system which covers out of working hours. Working pattern starts at 4:30pm until 9am 7 days per week and Saturday and Sunday work pattern is 8:30am until 5 pm.

The team are supported by an on-call service manager every night and access to sessional pool of staff as agreed by the service manager when the situation arises.

You must have experience of working with Adults/children and/ or complex safeguarding with associated risk factors and deliver immediate solutions sometimes under pressure and have AMHP status.

About the Role

The Project

The current MyCity Directory is an online environment providing Salford citizens with a centralised point of access to local area service providers and related events.

The directory is categorised to deliver information on Services and Groups, Childcare, the Local Offer (services for children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and their parents/carers), and Adult Care and Support.

The directory aims to deliver a comprehensive and up-to-date environment for the promotion and listing of services and event-based activities available to Salford citizens alongside appropriate static information and external links to important resources, information and national services.

As well as delivering on the local authority’s statutory requirements the directory is a vital source of information and advice, bringing together several local government service provision departments. It is therefore itself a service of high strategic value and importance in supporting the work of service providers, front-line officers and in improving overall access to service provision.

The Problem

The current directory is unable to support the council’s roadmap for digital transformation and customer engagement.

The current directory does not have the infrastructure needed to support the development of the customer’s digital experience in finding appropriate service information, nor the infrastructure to embed that experience into other operations associated with streamlining the creation and use of a single digital identity.

As a result, the following are increasingly subject to a deteriorating quality of service:

• Accessibility of information
  
• Quality of signposting and referral pathways
  
• User search experience and relevance of offer
  
• Efficiencies in internal and external data sharing
  
• Quantity and quality of service provider information
  
• User data capture, analysis of service provision and feedback
  

The Solution

The proposal for the Community Platform is to use a microservices approach, rather than a monolithic approach.

The microservices approach separates the services that build up a webapp into their individual components. This allows for the services to be designed, built, tested and implemented individually and allows for individual services to be updated, redesigned or even to fail without causing the whole of the webapp to be affected.

The platform will be a dynamic, centralised information environment with web-services, advanced user functionality and applied intelligence that enhances the user’s experience and increases the accessibility and capacity of local area services.

The solution must be:

• A bespoke platform that delivers ongoing user and data development for Salford City Council, partners and stakeholders.
  
• An accurate, up-to-date information environment with a suite of tools for improving, monitoring and maintaining the quality of the user’s experience.
  
• Responsive to the needs of users, to establish more personalised and effective pathways for advice, referrals, bookings & transactions.
  
• The structure on which data sharing, analysis and intelligence capacity can be built and an evolving statement on accessibility and equality of opportunity.

Role Profile

We are delighted to invite applications for a senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for Salford adult inpatient services based at Meadowbrook Unit. Following significant investment in inpatient Psychology provision trust-wide, we are recruiting a full-time 8a or band 7-8a preceptorship Clinical or Counselling Psychologist. We are pleased to be able to offer these posts to individuals already working in an 8a capacity or those who are seeking development opportunities from a band 7-8a (on achievement of agreed competencies). We are happy to accept applications from Trainee Clinical Psychologists who are due to qualify in 2024.

Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will find every day exciting. Your role will be varied and stimulating and will include a mix of direct and indirect work. You will support the teams to develop formulations to support care, contribute to staff training and supervision of delivery of brief psychological interventions. Direct work will include psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions, both on a one-to-one basis and group format. As part of the clinical team on the wards you will work with ward managers, occupational therapists, nurses and doctors to ensure that inpatient admissions are therapeutic and support each person’s recovery. You will supervise the work of the unit’s Assistant Psychologists in delivering group and structured individual sessions.

Working as part of the psychology team and broader MDT, the postholder will provide a clinical psychology service to the 3 adult acute wards and 1 psychiatric intensive care unit in Salford. You will be well supported by and work closely with the service’s principal inpatient Clinical Psychologist, Senior Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Psychologists to deliver the highest quality clinical psychology service to the inpatient wards where you will be based. Each ward is staffed by a full multidisciplinary team who always put service user care at the heart of their practice and work on a model of trauma-informed, least restrictive practice. You will work with them to ensure that the psychological needs of service users and staff are understood and met.

The focus on principles of trauma-informed care and continuous innovation makes Meadowbrook an attractive and exciting service to work with, rich with opportunity to contribute to service development. There would be opportunity to be involved in Quality Improvement and pathway development projects. An opportunity has arisen for 2 Senior clinical fellow's ST3+ Locally Employed Doctors to work across the general medicine team at Salford Royal Hospital.

You will be an integral part of the Medical Team at Salford Royal Hospital working alongside an experienced team of Consultants and junior medical staff.

The Clinical Fellow will be part of a consultant led multidisciplinary team with responsibility for the provision of services across General and Specialist Medicine.

The post holder’s duties will be split between GIRFT and clinical obligations.They will be part of the Consultant led team providing medical care to inpatients in a senior clinical decision maker capacity, developing their enhanced skills in the assessment and management of unwell patients, supervising junior staff in their specialty, and providing support to Physicians Associates, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Specialist Nurses.



This is a Trust Doctor post ST3 + level or above equivalent position appointed for service commitments; it is not recognised for training by the Post Graduate Dean. The GIRFT Fellow will be involved in local, regional and national quality improvement projects. They will work with senior colleagues across the NCA NHSFT and GIRFT, to assist in data gathering and analysis of national and local practice and current outcomes; drawing up best guidance practice following clinical engagement across Trusts nationally and within the NCA NHSFT; publishing and disseminating best practice following implementation. A typical fellow will author 2-3 academic peer reviewed publications during their fellowship and make a similar number of conference presentations. A key component of the projects undertaken by the GIRFT Fellow will related to environmental sustainability, an area where GIRFT has an increasing interest.

Applications are invited for the 1 year post of Lateral Skull Base Fellow at Salford Royal Hospital commencing in August 2025

The Neurosurgical Unit in the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN) at Salford Royal Hospital has one of the largest and busiest skull base teams in the country.

You would join this team with direct responsibility to the four skull base neurosurgical consultants, working in conjunction with the rest of the neurosurgical team. Other subspecialties that are represented within the unit include complex spine, functional, oncology and vascular neurosurgery, giving you experience in a busy, well-established and highly-performing unit.

It is a microsurgical fellowship, predominantly focusing on lateral skull base pathology, although we do undertake the full range of skull base approaches. The fellowship does not include any work with our endoscopic skull base colleagues, who run a stand-alone pituitary surgical fellowship

The post is suitable for senior neurosurgical trainees or junior consultants with a clear and demonstrable interest in skull base surgery, and genuine prospects of being able to take up a consultant (or equivalent for international applicants) post with a skull base subspecialty practice following the fellowship. The post is paid at the equivalent of registrar grade. There will be some involvement in general neurosurgery, and a 1:11 on call as the second on call registrar (resident full shift rota), with a junior registrar as first on call.

An opportunity has arisen to recruit a high calibre Ortho-Plastic Hand Fellow.

You will join a large multidisciplinary Orthoplastic Hand & Wrist Team consisting of Consultant colleagues, Hand Registrar, Hand Surgery core trainee, Advanced Practitioners and Specialist Nurses in Hand Surgery.

The unit has a strong track record in higher level teaching and training for hand surgery.

Post-CCT doctors will be desirable, there is independent clinic and theatre activity within the post. There will be a teaching and research commitment. There will be an expectation to provide out of hours Hand Surgery clinic/theatre and manage hand trauma as well as elective hand surgery. The post is useful for those undertaking a diploma in Hand Surgery (BSSH or FESSH).

Hand Surgeons from either a Plastic or Orthopaedic background are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be based at Salford Royal Hospital with elective lists predominantly at Rochdale.

The candidate will be expected to integrate within the team of existing consultants, specialist
registrars, Trust Grade Doctors and Orthopaedic advanced Nurse Practitioners in order to provide a
complete Trauma and Orthopaedic service. The main focus of the job role is in assisting the Consultants in the delivery of Hand Surgery.

As we continue to develop as a Major Trauma Centre and to meet the needs of our complex patient caseload, the Emergency Department is looking to employ a Band 7 Emergency Nurse.

Provide accurate forecasting of pipeline sales

Manage complex negotiations with senior-level executives
Build rapport and establish long term relationships with customers, prospecting for new customers, using LinkedIn, social media and you will have a healthy list of qualified leads to work through too.
Providing support to the team leader as and where required – established team members will be asked to work on strategic sales initiatives, help to coach and develop other team members and help with product development.
