Senior Care Assistant - Days- required for our brand-new luxury care home ‘Hermitage House’ in Thrapston, NN14 4GN, Part of the Country Court Family.
Hours: Days, 33 hours per week available, working weekends on rota (Shift Times 08:00-20:00)

ABOUT THE SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT ROLE
Within your role as a Senior Care Assistant, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:

Aiding residents emotional well-being and social needs
Administration and monitoring of medications to residents.
Supporting residents at meals time
Mentor & assist new employees.
Implement, monitor and review care plans to meet residents specific needs.
Plan, allocate & supervise the work of the team of care assistants

Your new role
Southend City Council are looking to appoint a permanent children's experienced Mental Health Senior Practitioner to join the Fostering Team.Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 2/3 days per week.

The successful candidate will provide foster parents with support systems and monthly group supervision, alongside individual group supervision. They will take the lead in identifying those children scoring high on the annual SDQ and lead on ensuring the creation of management plans for young people with mental health and EHWB needs.They will participate in the CLA forum and CLA Consultations for Southend CLA in conjunction with EWMS provided by NELFT.There will be a need to provide effective and therapeutic assessments and interventions for young people with mental health and EHW needs, who are CLA by Southend City Council.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you must be able to work in the UK, have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with the Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.

A degree in psychotherapy/counselling and training in therapeutic interventions is desirable but not essential. You will need to have experience in completing and presenting reports for panels, court and other professionals in the child and foster carers professional network.You must have knowledge of relevant psychological theories and be able to apply theory to practice.

Knowledge of child protection, issues affecting children looked after and awareness of welfare rights and understanding of issues of loss/bereavement.

The team are responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our Council owned housing stock, including garages, sheltered schemes and communal areas.

Senior Accountant

Location - Colchester, Essex
Working Pattern - Hybrid, with at least 1 day in the office per week
Inside IR35
Contract Length - c2.5 months (will end on 14/02/25)

The Senior Accountant is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

• Responsible for the monthly close process of the Management Accounts; Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet. Details include; Reconciliations, Accruals, Allocations, Revenue downloads, Pre-payments, Variance Analysis and commentary in accordance with the published timetable
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with control policy and procedures within the Global Accounting team
• Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed in accordance with Balance Sheet Integrity guidelines and control frameworks
• Ensure that issues are escalated as appropriate to your Financial Controller in a timely manner.
• Responsible for Financial Reporting and Analysis including Group reporting, supplementary packs and ad-hoc requests
• Publish financial results in the relevant finance systems
• Ensure communications are handled between the SSO, Group finance and the Business Teams
• To be involved with any acquisition integration/due diligence
• Working on projects including key process testing & systems
• Working with internal and external auditors
• Analyse and solve Ad-hoc problems using knowledge of business and systems
• Embrace change and continuously seek out improvements

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong academic background
• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience of leading an R2R team within a large finance function
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of all R2R processes including best practice in R2R, people, processes and technology
• Confident in how to lead and guide a team through challenging periods.
• Be able to manage competing priorities and achieving deadlines, whilst delivering a high standard of work and supporting the team as and when needed.
• Solid at building relationships with stakeholders within and outside of the organisation.
• Evidence of making decisions at the right time based on the information available.
• Good presentation skills
