The role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work with key internal stakeholders, client and suppliers/subcontractors to drive both strategic value and operational excellence through all levels of the business.
Day-to-day, you'll:
- Support Quantity Surveyors; provide commercial expertise for projects, including bid preparation, change management, and contracts.
- Ensure Contract Compliance: Understand and enforce head contract terms throughout the supply chain.
- Manage Procurement: Develop project procurement plans to meet budget, deadline, and risk mitigation goals.
- Optimise Costs: Minimise disallowed costs and improve sourcing/tendering processes.
- Manage Subcontractor Contracts: Oversee commercial aspects of subcontractor agreements during project execution.
- Support Claims Management: Justify and document subcontractor claims to support head contract variations and audits.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Significant experience in a Quantity Surveying role
- Extensive experience managing projects and delivering results.
- Adept at collaborating with clients and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of construction industry financials and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of NEC3 contracts and methodologies.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
