About the role:

The Senior Electrical Designer will have the responsibility to support the local projects team through provision of Electrical & Instrument Design and Consulting Services - effective delivery of pharmaceutical projects..

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Senior Therapy Radiographer (Band 6) to join the team at our cancer centre in Macclesfield. The Macclesfield unit is the first Christie satellite centre with radiotherapy and chemotherapy departments and is therefore able to offer concurrent chemo-radiotherapy treatments. The department also delivers complex radiotherapy techniques (e.g. SABR and SGRT) using state of the art equipment. Consequently, we can offer a wide range of treatments to local patients, as well as varied development opportunities to radiographers.

The post holder will be based at the Macclesfield site in East Cheshire but, will be expected to work across all Christie sites as required.

This is a rotational post and you will have the opportunity to work across treatment and pre-treatment sections of the department.

Your new role
As Audit Senior, you will be involved in the full audit cycle from planning through to presentation of reports. You will support the Audit Manager to plan and execute audits for a diverse and growing client base and you will manage the onsite audit team to deliver an efficient audit service. You will be also responsible for building and maintaining client relationships. You will be involved in the review of trainees work and the management of the wider team.

Provide evidence based individualised patient care according to patients changing healthcare needs. Provide clinical leadership and expertise in haematology oncology and act as a resource to patients and staff. Assess patient`s adverse events to therapy to enable appropriate management and symptom control. Be the key worker for a clinical case load and facilitate the co-ordination of patients. Develop and review patient information. Maintain skills in advanced communication for all aspects of patient assessment, care and support. Actively participate in multi- professional meetings, acting as the patient advocate and representing nursing views. Practice evidence based healthcare and be responsible for developing clinical policies where appropriate. Accept and make appropriate referrals to multi- professional disciplinary team and take action if clinically indicated. Proficient in Bone Marrow Aspiration procedure including pre and post procedural care. Lead on the completion of Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs) throughout key points of treatment, leading to supportive care. Provide expert nursing support and follow-up care for patients. Including inpatient and outpatient visits and a significant amount of telephone advice and triage. Lead in patient education and counselling at all stages of the disease from diagnosis through treatment to end of life care. Includes maintaining up-to-date literature, information tools and provision of sources of information. Promote and demonstrate research-based practice, initiate projects and encourage partnership working within the Christie Well-Being Holistic therapies, to provide support groups for patients. Work unsupervised, referring to medical colleagues when necessary. To be responsible for complying with the trust infection control policies and clinical guidelines. Strategic planning, education, research and audit are key components of this role. Contribute to the collection of quantitive and qualitative data, utilizing this data by providing written reports when required which provide evidence of productivity, outcomes and quality. Actively integrate research, theory and practice by undertaking surveys or audits as necessary. Participate in the development of trust policy and clinical guidelines within haematology. Actively participates in multi- professional meetings, acting as the patient advocate and representing nursing views. Management Responsibilities Provide a supportive working environment and maintenance of staff morale, promoting a culture in which members of the team feel valued and able to achieve their potential. Actively participate in clinical risk assessments and ensure correct reporting of clinical incidents in accordance with hospital policy. Supports a culture that facilitates patient centred care and patient empowerment Support the development and promotion of the specialist nursing service ensuring the delivery of high quality, cost effective care. Engage patient and public involvement within the sphere of practice. Contribute to wider issues in the Trust such as committee membership and policy development. Participate in nursing and clinical developments within the Trust. Provide written evidence of service development and performance. Maintain accurate clinical records relating to nursing. Participate in haematology advisory boards and relevant working group. Professional Responsibilities Participate in a structured orientation programme in order to achieve full competency within the role. Work within professional codes and policies laid down both nationally and by the Trust. Participate in clinical supervision as a supervisor and where appropriate a supervisee. Contribute to the development of nurse led care within regional and national level. Provide leadership for regional nursing forum in the haematology arena. Training & Education Undertake continuing professional development to ensure that skills remain optimal and new elements can be added to the skills portfolio. Assist in the additional training needs of staff and participate in their continuing education development. Take responsibility for life-long learning and personal development through clinical supervision, appraisal and actively engage with learning development opportunities. Contribute to the development and dissemination of new knowledge by submitting papers for publication and / or abstracts for haematology conferences. Contribute to the identification of service goals and appreciates how these link with performance targets and quality indicators. Ensure the provision of care is in accordance with The Christie NHS Trust policy and procedures guidelines. Promote patient centred services for patients affected by cancer and work in collaboration with allied health professionals in the trust and in the community. Promote equality and value diversity.
