About the role
Bury Council’s Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit a Senior Manager to join its Senior Leadership Team. Promoting adult learning is at the heart of Bury’s LET’S Do It! 2030 Strategy which is an ambitious vision for delivering inclusive economic growth and reducing levels of deprivation across the borough.
Joining this team will give you the opportunity to take responsibility for leading a team of Programme Managers in developing and delivering a range of innovative learning opportunities to support the existing and emerging needs of Bury residents. We are looking for someone with extensive experience at a senior management level in the post-sixteen education sector, within an adult learning setting. Ideally you will have played a significant role in co-ordinating a curriculum offer which responds to National, Regional and Local priorities.
Also of critical importance is the ability to demonstrate a proven track record of successful change management, relationship building, quality improvement and a passion for leading successful teams.
You will have thorough knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework and be able to demonstrate an ability to develop and deliver quality improvement strategies, in line with regulatory requirements and policy expectations within the exciting devolved administrative environment of Greater Manchester.
The ideal candidate will embody our LET’S Do It! values and will support putting learners at the centre of sharing in the success of our exciting plans to deliver excellent adult education for all the communities of our borough.
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
