Day-to-day, you'll managing contracts throughput their lifecycle, negotiating contracts and contract changes, manging trade controls and compliance and also providing quantity surveying services all in support of Nuclear Defence Support business stream.

• Responsible for developing and fulfilling of contract requirements, evaluating contract compliance, advising on contractual rights and obligations, and requesting or approving amendments to contract terms or extensions.
• Act as an escalation point within the relevant project for high risk, complex commercial issues
• Develop key external commercial customer relationships
• Support the budget management process by providing input into project reporting for the business' and commercial P&L
• Raise key commercial issues with higher management through both line management and functional management lines
• Accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources

This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office and two days working from home.

Essential experience of the Commercial Manager

• Significant generalist commercial experience, demonstrating proven track record in delivering on accountabilities, and more specifically on driving the commercial agenda
• Proven track record of delivering significant contribution to project commercial strategy, and to delivering robust commercial management on large and complex contracts and bids
• Demonstrable NEC3 experience

Qualifications for the Commercial Manager

• Educated to degree level with a Law degree or Quantity Surveyor qualification, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
