The aim of the nursery is to provide a happy, home to home environment for all children in their care with emphasis on individual attention and learning through play. The nursery works in partnership with all parents to provide a service that will reach their individual needs.

This position would suit an experienced Room Lead or experienced Nursery Practitioner who has previously worked in a similar environment caring for children aged between 0 – 5 years and is looking for an exciting career opportunity.

About our Room Manager role

· To assist management in providing the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children, and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with staff and parents.

· To work closely with the staff members in ensuring a smooth running of the daily routine.

· To contribute ideas to planning ensuring the children receive high quality of learning and development.

· To liaise with nursery staff regarding children’s specific needs and requirements.

· To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment.

· To adhere to all Nursery policies and procedures

· To always meet health and safety and environmental health requirements

Essential Criteria - Qualifications/Experience:

• Full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification - Essential
• Over 1 year's experience working in Early Years - Essential
• Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
• Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
• Fluent in written and spoke to English - Essential

Nursery Deputy Manager

As the Deputy Manager, you will help lead the staff to deliver and ensure all children receive quality care, help extend the child’s learning. Create, plan, and implement activities and experience which help support all aspects of the EYFS. This role is working 40 hours per week, various shifts patterns between the opening and closing times of the nursery 7:00am-18:30pm.

Responsibilities:

- Supporting and liaising with the Manager on a daily basis.

- Assisting the Manager in ensuring effective staff recruitment following Footsteps Day Nurseries recruitment procedures. Supervising staff and students, conducting regular staff assessments, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork.

- Planning and preparing activities to develop all aspects of the child's individual development in a stimulating atmosphere, within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

- To work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn

- Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and families

What we need from you?

- Passion and commitment for working in childcare

- Ability to work shifts between 7.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday working 40 hours per week

- Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years

- Commitment to continual development

- NNEB, BTEC Nat Dip, CACHE Dip in Childcare, NVQ level 3, EY Educator
