The Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to join us as our Culture and Inclusion Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, this role will drive the evolution of a positive workplace culture, boosting morale and engagement, and contributing to an employee experience which promotes the Service as an “Employer of Choice”.

The post holder will be responsible for the design and implementation of strategies and initiatives that shape our culture, embed our organisational values, behaviours and beliefs and promote equality, diversity and inclusion. Experience within a public sector organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to inclusivity, fairness, dignity and the highest standards of ethical behaviours and will champion these in their day-to-day work.

We wish to recruit an enterprising and ambitious Manager to lead our employability and skills work in Sunderland, supporting participants to progress into work through providing innovative solutions to address barriers. The Manager will identify opportunities to enhance service delivery enabling the achievement of pre-set employment and training targets and supporting staff performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering an employability project coupled with experience of managing a small team, the drive to exceed performance targets, excellent verbal and written skills and be confident in using Microsoft word and excel to produce reports and data interpretation documents. You will be required to represent the organisation at performance review meetings, attend networking meetings and external partner events.

The current postholder is retiring and will be available to provide handover training to the successful candidate. The role offers an opportunity to progress to manage wider contracts, including our voluntary provision.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
As Team Leader your role will be to provide support to an agile Service Manager, Team Leaders are responsible for the smooth and safe running of the service, including managing and creating the monthly rotas, updating and managing care plans, supporting and supervising support workers, including inducting new team members, as well as overseeing reporting such as medication records and health and safety checks. Team Leaders are also expected to work jointly with other professionals to ensure customers receive support which is designed to meet their own personal need.

About the role:

The Deputy Racing Manager will work closely with the Racing Managers to deliver the race meetings required with integrity. You will grade cards for race meetings and perform racing office/race meeting duties as required. Compliance with conditions imposed on the business by Government, Gambling Commission and The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) need to be met or exceeded. This role will include a variable working week pattern to meet the needs of the business, including weekends and evenings where the racing schedule requires. You must have a keen eye for the performance of the field and have an interest in Greyhound Racing. This would suit someone who is keen to learn and progress.

To report to the Racing Manager any irregularities or breaches of rules witnessed in relation to the Racing Product or GBGB rules.
Run/support the Racing Managers in running race/trial meetings.
To ensure compliance with the GBGB Rules of Racing.
To liaise with Trainers, Vet and other departments to maintain a positive relationship with others.
Use the public address system.
Marking up greyhounds and completing and sending paperwork relating to greyhound registration and licencing.
Distribution of information to outside sources including social media.
Kennel number allocation and paddock duties as required.
Creating and printing race cards.
Have an understanding of the Animal Welfare Act and Welfare of Racing Greyhounds Regulations 2010.
To compete any other reasonable tasks requested by management as required.
Help support in the processing of reports, time sheets, registrations and prize money.
Answering the phone when required to deal with queries.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project stakeholders, subcontractors and local authorities.
• Supervise all trades and labour, as well as co-ordinate the activities of all the trades and disciplines involved on the site so that all operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve site efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor and manage site budget and expenses.
• Strong knowledge of construction and working processes.
• Address any issues or concerns raised by clients or staff members.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to site activities.
• Maintain the site diary and arrange meetings with customers/clients
• Ensure that all work is kept on programme and that all details as specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to.

Requirements

• SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid Certificate.
• DBS checked
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Strong communication, leadership and management skills.
• Proficient in using computer software related to site management.
