The Opportunity
This role represents an exciting opportunity to lead the development & delivery of technical services supporting the provision of high-quality learning & teaching for a variety of stakeholders in Harper & Keele Veterinary School. The post holder will work closely with the Vet School academic team, resource managers across both Harper Adams and Keele universities and external suppliers leading on the sourcing, creation, scheduling, management & delivery of practical teaching resources. The successful candidate will have experience of working as a senior technician, preferably within a Higher Education setting, experience of managing a team and ideally an understanding of veterinary or animal science related subject areas.

The Family Manager’s main role will be to improve pupil progress and achievement by helping to minimise barriers to learning and maximise pupil engagement. Enabling them to achieve their full-potential. In doing so strong links between parents and external agencies will be established.



Key Responsibilities



• To be accountable to the Headteacher/Inclusion lead/SLT




• To undertake a range of work to support family development with a focus on working together to safeguard children. To contribute to the school’s family support work by offering home visits and help in dealing with specific issues e.g behaviour management, housing and debt management.
• To undertake home visits as and when required to support the school in order to help families better met the needs of the children
• To carry a caseload of specific families and use effective and accurate assessments, recording, planning interventions and the school’s Safeguarding Policy.
• To contribute to the review of policies - developing local guidelines, where appropriate.
• To maintain and encourage innovative practice and keep up-to-date with new legislation and developments.

As an Assistant Manager for our client, you will be at the very centre of the customer and team experience, ensuring that your centre has the best standards and service in the industry.

The role is varied, exciting and challenging. Your responsibilities will range from coaching and mentoring the team on shift, to ensuring the centre is a safe and fun environment for customers. You will be hands on across all areas of the busy centre.

Within our clients fast-paced, dynamic world, Assistant Managers are trained across all areas of the centre to support the effective operation of their business. You will support the General Manager with back of house duties, as well as running an exceptional operation front of house. You will be responsible for delivering financial targets and service standards.

To be successful you should have:

a minimum of twelve months’ management experience in a fast paced, customer-facing environment ideally within the leisure, hospitality, or retail industry
be passionate about customer service
evidence of inspiring and developing large teams
be willing to work nights and weekends
have ambition for success
