The Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) of the Bronson Medical Group is an executive role charged with leading the Bronson Healthcare system in delivering the highest quality patient care. This position works collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction, ensuring the operational and fiscal efficiency of Bronson's primary and multi-specialty groups across Bronson’s regional system. The VP/CCO oversees the comprehensive management of primary care and specialty services in line with the organizational goal of achieving a fully integrated delivery system. In partnership with the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Bronson Medical Group, the VP/CCO is instrumental in strategizing and executing initiatives that foster collaborative relationships with corporate subsidiaries, private physicians, community businesses, and Bronson-employed providers. This role includes shared responsibility for formulating and implementing provider employment agreements and incentive programs that align with the strategic objectives of the healthcare system. In line with the responsibility to support clinical integration across the Bronson system, and in support of the administrative management of Bronson’s Medical Group, the VP/CCO ensures service efficiency and patient satisfaction. Reporting to the Chief Physician Executive, the VP/CCO is a pivotal member of the senior leadership team, directing clinical operations and provider practices for the extensive Medical Group, upholding the organization's mission, and driving excellence across all facets of clinical care. The Chief Clinical Officer role is 100% Administrative and does not require any active clinical duties.
Core Executive Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop goals and implement plans to achieve agreed-upon objectives.
- Lead in policy development, securing approvals, and the overall direction for efficient and effective services.
- Direct the design and establishment of management control procedures, including records maintenance and authorization processes.
- Plan and implement organizational structures for optimal operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Resolve operational problems, foster smooth procedures, and promote sound inter-departmental relationships.
- Maintain professional knowledge in acute healthcare administration and ensure departmental adherence to relevant developments.
Performance Metrics:
- Patient satisfaction and experience scores.
- Clinical outcome measures and quality indicators.
- Compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Financial performance of clinical services.
- Staff engagement and retention rates.
- Efficiency and effectiveness of clinical processes.
The CCO role is pivotal in upholding superior patient care standards and the efficient operation of clinical services within the medical group. This executive will embody visionary leadership and administrative acumen, navigating the complexities of healthcare delivery while advancing the group's strategic and operational goals.
1. Clinical Leadership and Strategy:
o Develop and lead clinical strategies that reflect the group's mission and business objectives.
o Provide direction to medical practices, ensuring cohesive clinical leadership across the group.
2. Quality of Care and Performance:
o Continually monitor and enhance the quality of care, patient outcomes, and satisfaction levels.
o Implement and maintain evidence-based practices, upholding high clinical performance standards.
3. Compliance and Accreditation:
o Ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
o Keep informed of healthcare regulations, preparing the group to adapt to legislative changes.
4. Operational Management:
o Partner with VP/COO of BMG to streamline clinical operations and processes.
o Supervise the adoption of health informatics systems to augment clinical workflow.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
o Cultivate and support clinical staff, advocating for professional development and continuous improvement.
o Enhance interdisciplinary teamwork and communication across the organization.
6. Financial Oversight and Budgeting:
o Engage in financial planning for clinical services and manage budgets to meet fiscal goals.
o Assess the profitability and efficiency of clinical service lines.
7. Patient Experience and Advocacy:
o Champion the highest standards of patient care, prioritizing patient needs in clinical decisions.
o Assess and improve the patient care journey across the group's practices.
8. Innovation and Research:
o Promote clinical research and the integration of cutting-edge treatments and technologies.
o Collaborate with academic and industry partners to propel clinical advancements.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) and 10 years of medical/clinical experience with at least 5 yrs. in a senior leadership role, including leadership positions in an acute healthcare setting.
- Board Certified with a current license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Proficiency in Workday (preferred), basic word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Demonstrated a high degree of diplomacy, strategic thinking, and planning.
- Ability to work under mental and visual strain, performing a wide variety of duties with frequent deadlines.
- Proven track record of implementing clinical strategies that improve patient care and operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing diverse teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
