RPS is looking for an Associate Director Town Planner. This is a key role within our National Development & Infrastructure Planning Team, who work collaboratively with our Environment Division. Working alongside a range of multi-disciplinary services within a team of planning experts, you will be delivering on a broad range of planning applications including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics, major infrastructure projects and you will be helping to grow and develop business and, provide mentorship to junior planners.

What you will be doing

·Developing new customer relationships and maintaining existing business

·Directing and mentoring junior planners

· Providing input into business plans and Chair Planning Meetings, influencing debate and contributing to discussion on operational matters

· Preparing fee proposals and providing input into tender submissions

· Preparing representations to Local Plan consultations, appearing at Local Plan Examinations and assisting with appeal co-ordination and statements of case

· Presiding over small/medium & large projects including coordinating team members, project finances, overseeing solutions in line with the customer’s expectations and ensuring delivery is on time

Who are looking for?

With experience within this sector, you will already be familiar with what we’re looking for:

· Qualified MRTPI or in another relevant discipline

· A highly experienced and knowledgeable practitioner who has experience in large energy and infrastructure projects, including those requiring Environmental Impact Assessment, and those relating to Developments of National Significance and Development Control Orders

· Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and experience of delivering consultancy to a range of customers

· Have an established market reputation with a demonstrable record of winning sustainable and commercially viable projects

· Good financial and project management experience is essential

· Great influencing and communication techniques that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate strong working relationships with colleagues, customers and external bodies

You will: Line-manage geographically dispersed senior and specialist teams within the Directorate and deputise for Chief Cloud Officer when required. Your new role
You will be responsible for:
-Providing leadership to the executive team and other decision-making groups on the growth of D&A
-Lead, create, deliver and report on the D&A strategy, incorporating business needs
-Refine and lead a team of data professionals across the business
-Lead, support and manage the D&A Department, providing clear direction, communicating agreed objectives and facilitating individual and team development
-Lead all necessary changes to the D&A methodologies in a systematic and outcome-based approach
-Overall responsibility for the D&A budget including management, communication and working within financial, budgetary and business planning procedures
-Manage the data architecture, ensuring that appropriate guidelines are given to those responsible for designing data structures and repositories as well as data exchange protocols
-Provide and present modern D&A and BI in accessible, user-intuitive formats that drive understanding, insight and customer-led decision-making across RCN
-Definite the D&A Transformation Programme and prioritise the roadmap from idea to value with the Executive Team and key cross-functional stakeholders
