JOB PURPOSE: To provide a high level, comprehensive, efficient and confidential secretarial/administrative service to the Directorate Manager for General Surgery and Urology, the Directorate Manager for Trauma, Orthopaedics and Vascular, and the Directorate Manager for ENT, OMFS, Dermatology and Audiology, utilising a full range of technical skills in the production of correspondence, reports and presentations without supervision. The role includes the co-ordination, administration and facilitation of the teams to ensure that the Division can deliver its core objectives and targets. Key Duties The range and diversity of responsibilities will require the post holder to adopt a flexible approach. The ability to work independently, with competing priorities and to tight deadlines is essential. The post holder is a key member of the Divisional Team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives for three Directorates. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To act as first point of contact for the Directorate Managers in the Surgery Division, dealing with staff at all levels inside and outside the Trust To work autonomously, prioritising own workload including carrying out enquiries and investigating issues, to ensure that an efficient service is always provided to the Directorate Managers. To manage the diaries for the Directorate Managers, including resolution of conflicting diary appointments. About the Role

As a member of the Offshore Development and Delivery Team, the Deputy Project Director reports directly to the Project Director and will deputise for the Project Director in their absence.

The role is responsible for the following:

- Assisting the Project Director in the development, refinement and delivery of a programme of projects, or individual projects, at different stages of definition and maturity; specifically the safe and successful delivery of high value and complex HVDC Interconnector projects. These may be executed under a Joint Venture.

- Development, refinement and execution of the project to meet or exceed the project objectives and economic measures approved at respective SSENT Large Capital Project Governance Framework Gates, and as identified within the Project Development Plan during Development and Refinement phases and the Project Execution Plan during the Execution phase, as delegated by the Project Director.

- The Deputy Project Director is responsible for the development and administration of Ofgem Regulatory submissions, as delegated by the Project Director.

- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, to positively influence and impact upon the delivery of the Project and wider SSEN Transmission and SSE business objectives.

- The Deputy Project Director supports the Project Director in the design and development of project structures and resources for the safe delivery of projects on time in a consistent manner with effective governance, financial, commercial, quality and risk management disciplines.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Extensive experience in project delivery (preferably in the electricity generation/transmission sectors) with direct responsibility and experience in the management and leadership of large capital projects as a senior or lead project manager.

- Strong and demonstrable experience of preparation, negotiation and execution of NEC3 and FIDIC contracts, especially in a multi contract delivery model environment with individual contract values in excess of £100M.

- In depth knowledge and experience of the HVDC and/or AC industry and delivery, preferably with offshore cable delivery experience.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of project management systems and governance arrangements for development and execution of large capital projects.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of project controls processes and systems.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally and experience of communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, preferably including direct experience of Ofgem engagement.

JOB PURPOSE: To provide a high level, comprehensive, efficient and confidential secretarial/administrative service to the Directorate Manager for General Surgery and Urology, the Directorate Manager for Trauma, Orthopaedics and Vascular, and the Directorate Manager for ENT, OMFS, Dermatology and Audiology, utilising a full range of technical skills in the production of correspondence, reports and presentations without supervision. The role includes the co-ordination, administration and facilitation of the teams to ensure that the Division can deliver its core objectives and targets. Key Duties The range and diversity of responsibilities will require the post holder to adopt a flexible approach. The ability to work independently, with competing priorities and to tight deadlines is essential. The post holder is a key member of the Divisional Team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives for three Directorates. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To act as first point of contact for the Directorate Managers in the Surgery Division, dealing with staff at all levels inside and outside the Trust To work autonomously, prioritising own workload including carrying out enquiries and investigating issues, to ensure that an efficient service is always provided to the Directorate Managers. To manage the diaries for the Directorate Managers, including resolution of conflicting diary appointments. Provide efficient and confidential administrative secretarial assistance by developing, maintaining and updating filing systems, administrative procedures and personnel files. Take responsibility for the efficient organisation and maintenance of filing systems, ensuring that all papers for meetings are available and that there is an effective bring forward system ensuring that confidentiality is always maintained. Organise and maintain any archiving/storage facilities for personnel files within the Directorates and ensure that documents are stored electronically. Take responsibility for all matters relating to incoming and outgoing correspondence including monitoring of emails, initiating replies to routine correspondence on behalf of the Directorate Managers as necessary. In the absence of a Directorate Manager, to be responsible for the forwarding or re-direction of urgent items of business or correspondence. Be the initial point of contact for telephone and face-to-face enquiries from internal colleagues and external agencies, dealing with confidential, sensitive, complex and contentious issues as well as dealing with complex enquiries, and responding accordingly to ensure appropriate action is taken on specific issues. Ensure that all messages are prioritised and communicated to the Directorate Manager or other member of the Directorate Management Team. In the absence of the Directorate Manager initiate action where necessary and monitor action taken. Ensure that information requested from staff is received in a timely and accurate manner. Gather information requested by the Directorate Managers and present in a useful format, disseminating any information, which may be of interest to other staff members, associates and outside agencies. To cascade Trust information to staff within the Directorate teams via appropriate methods and to liaise with the Directorate Managers and the Directorate Management Team where appropriate. Maintain annual leave, sickness, study leave records ensuring leave does not coincide. Maintain the personal files for the staff within the Directorate Management Teams. Co-ordinate the recruitment processes, providing administrative support and arrangements for interviews on behalf of the Directorate Managers. Provide secretariat role to the Directorate Meetings and other committees. This will include co-ordinating and facilitating meetings, taking full responsibility for identification of agenda items, drafting agendas, taking formal minutes and identifying actions, distribution of relevant papers and ensuring follow-up action is undertaken. Conduct polite and courteous telephone conversations with all stakeholders demonstrating patience and understanding of whichever dilemmas they may be facing in a reassuring manner. To provide cover in the absence of the PA to Divisional Directors to ensure the smooth running of the service during planned and unplanned leave. Establish communication and maintain links with other staff and associates to ensure an effective and efficient administrative/secretarial service for the Directorate Managers. Be responsible for the procurement of physical assets and supplies for the Directorates, raising orders when directed ensuring agreed financial guidelines are adhered to when orders are placed. To manage the stock control of stationery and non-clinical related supplies for the Directorates. Maintain the staff intranet pages for the Directorates, ensuring that the information is up to date. Other duties, commensurate with the post, as directed by Divisional Directors, Directorate Managers and the PA to the Divisional Directors.

Job Purpose: The post holder will provide operational management leadership for the Directorate working in partnership with the Clinical Director and the Matron. Key Duties: The post holder will ensure that the Directorate and its services meet their quality, activity and financial targets. To work with the Clinical Director, Director of Operations, Divisional Director, and Matron(s) to assist in the planning, objective setting and change management within both the Directorate and the Division as a whole. The post holder will be required to proactively engage in service transformation and development, responding to changing environment, working with commissioning colleagues to ensure that the service is fit for purpose and meets the changing needs of the population. General Duties: 1. Performance To ensure that the operational performance of the Directorates services is effectively managed to meet agreed objectives and targets. To work in close conjunction with the Director of Operations, Clinical Directors and Matron/Senior Nurses to set and deliver the Directorate objectives, in line with Divisional and Corporate targets and strategies. To work manage and deliver income and expenditure (I&E) balance on the budget devolved within the Directorate. To plan and monitor performance against all activity targets and other service objectives. To ensure that all national and locally agreed waiting times and bookings targets are understand and met. To ensure the highest levels of cleanliness in clinical areas within the Directorate are adhered to at all times under the Trusts Infection Control policy; in close consultation with the Matron and Clinical Director. To work closely with relevant Trust teams to ensure the appropriate monitoring and delivery of targets associated with National plans e.g Cancer and EAS. Prepare and plan to meet inspection criteria for Cancer Peer Review, external QA audits, CQC inspections etc. as appropriate. To take responsibility for compliance with Trust complaints procedure for all complaints received with the Directorate. To identify, agreed and implement subsequent action plans. To take responsibility for the Directorates compliance with H&S and CNST/NHSLA standards. To identify, agreed and implement subsequent action plans. 2. Financial Management To be accountable for the delivery of income and expenditure (I&E) balance for the Directorate. This will involve a close, professional working relationship with the Directorate Finance Manager and the establishment and maintenance of an effective performance management system within the Directorate. To develop Business Cases and present to the Divisional Team. These will often involve complex financial/activity analysis using financial modelling software. To participate in pricing and costing, working towards relating patient activity, by diagnostic condition to expenditure. To ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions (SFI). 3. Business / Policy / Planning To deliver the annual capacity and business planning process for the Directorate eg. Identify annual objectives, cost improvement savings, cost pressures, capital bids as part of this process to agreed timescales. To support Clinical Directors, Matrons / Ward Managers, Departmental Managers and other key personnel within the Directorate in undertaking a strategic review of their services and action planning for identified areas of improvement eg. Improved capacity planning of theatre lists/outpatient clinics / treatment areas / diagnostics, improved patient access, improved use of resources (drugs / medical equipment). To work closely with the finance and business teams to develop innovative methods of income generation (fully understanding the implications of patient choice), financial control , strategic planning and bids for new opportunities , modernisation and public / private partnership funding. To draft business cases / briefing documents and papers, for submission by the Divisional Medical Director / Director of Operations to the relevant senior Advisory Groups, Trust Board, Integrated Governance Committee etc. To effectively manage the implementation of agreed outcomes from submitted papers/reports as detailed above. To ensure the review and update of policies / procedures and working practices across the specialities / departments within the Directorate to ensure standards of practice are maintained. To contribute to the update and rewriting of Trust wide policies. To ensure all Trust policies are adhered to within the Directorate. To undertake project work as directed by the Director of Operations. 4. Service Transformation and Development To lead Directorate clinical teams in service redesign. To lead and advise the Divisional Team on the development and implementation of strategies that respond to key national initiatives such as the NICE, Patient Choice and Payment by Results (PBR). To be fully aware of relevant service / technological developments within the Directorate. Ensure any opportunities are ceased, calculate capacity and demand available and participate in associated meetings. Keep abreast of national developments and strategies across the specialties and services to ensure that the Trust can respond as required. Work closely with Commissioning colleagues to maximise opportunities to meet joint CIP and QIPP requirements. Taking an integrated approach to service improvement and efficiencies. Identify opportunities for service improvement and development, liaising with commissioning colleagues so as to learn from other organisations / specialties. Tapping into resources and knowledge bases obtained through other sources. 5. People Management To motivate and take line management responsibility (direct and delegated) for all non-clinical and nursing staff within the Directorate. To ensure appropriate implementation of Trust HR policies. To oversee the effective recruitment, induction, training and development of all non-clinical staff within departments across the Directorate, ensuring that each member of staff has a robust appraisal. To ensure Junior Doctor compliance in relation to European Working Time Directive, working closely with Clinical Directors to achieve this. On behalf of the Director of Ops review workforce plans with heads of department, corporate staff group leads and HR to ensure appropriate and effective workforce planning in short, medium and long term scenarios. To ensure effective communication channels are established, maintained and developed within the Directorate. To work closely with the Human Resources team in developing a partnership working framework with staff representatives within the Directorate. 6. Governance To develop a strategy to enhance quality standards within the Directorate in line with the overall objectives of the hospital. Establish appropriate mechanisms to monitor achievement and take action in the event of underperformance. To ensure specific quality initiatives within the Directorate are co-ordinated, implemented and reviewed. To manage any operational issues arising from governance reviews. This will often require implementing changes in clinical practice. To identify opportunities for change that will improve or assist the development of clinical practice and which leads to improvements in quality or efficiency within the directorates. To ensure effective risk management and quality assurance policies are in place and they are compliant with Trust policy and procedure 7. Corporate & On Call Duties To participate in the Trusts management on-call rota. To investigate / hear internal staff grievances / complaints from other Divisions as required.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Degree (or equivalent) with a postgraduate accountancy qualification along with extensive experience in project financing and financial management of infrastructure projects and bank-financed projects, including direct experience with large offshore construction projects.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of project management systems and governance arrangements for large capital projects. Experience of managing several complex projects and processes at the same time, with expertise in project controls processes and systems.

- Ability to interpret and assimilate multiple data sources, including external market data, to produce meaningful insights, appropriate recommendations, and clear actions.

- Skilled in communicating financial performance to the wider project team, embedding financial understanding within the business. Ability to influence project delivery strategy and translate this into programs, opportunities, or activities that improve the business case or mitigate risk.

- Experience analysing and negotiating commercial terms within major construction, operations, and offtake contracts.

As a member of the Offshore Development and Delivery Team, the Deputy Project Director reports directly to the Project Director and will deputise for the Project Director in their absence.

The role is responsible for the following:

- Assisting the Project Director in the development, refinement and delivery of a programme of projects, or individual projects, at different stages of definition and maturity; specifically the safe and successful delivery of high value and complex HVDC and AC Interconnector projects.

- Development, refinement and execution of the project to meet or exceed the project objectives and economic measures approved at respective SSENT Large Capital Project Governance Framework Gates, and as identified within the Project Development Plan during Development and Refinement phases and the Project Execution Plan during the Execution phase, as delegated by the Project Director.

- The Deputy Project Director is responsible for the development and administration of Ofgem Regulatory submissions, as delegated by the Project Director.

- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners, to positively influence and impact upon the delivery of the Project and wider SSEN Transmission and SSE business objectives.

- The Deputy Project Director supports the Project Director in the design and development of project structures and resources for the safe delivery of projects on time in a consistent manner with effective governance, financial, commercial, quality and risk management disciplines.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Extensive experience in project delivery (preferably in the electricity generation/transmission sectors) with direct responsibility and experience in the management and leadership of large capital projects as a senior or lead project manager.

- Strong and demonstrable experience of preparation, negotiation and execution of NEC3 contracts, especially in a multi contract delivery model environment with individual contract values in excess of £100M.

- In depth knowledge and experience of the HVDC and/or AC industry and delivery, preferably with offshore cable delivery experience.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of project management systems and governance arrangements for development and execution of large capital projects.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of project controls processes and systems.

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally and experience of communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, preferably including direct experience of Ofgem engagement.
