An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Director in the Southwark Directorate

You will be a motivated leader, who can provide operational leadership and play a key role in working with the Directorate Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in the shaping and delivery of our services.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking to expand by recruiting an Experienced Project Director, with strong leadership credentials to manage both the growth and delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in managing risks and opportunities at the interface between clients, projects, and finance, along with supporting us to continue to build the business and ensuring successful project delivery. Experience of negotiation from both the lender and developer perspective will be considered.

Experience & Skills Required


- Oversee and lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects within scope, timeline, and budget
- Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with company strategy and client needs
- Oversee project budgets and quality control to maintain financial and operational efficiency
- Finalize the preparation of client deliverables and identify key recommendations
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal and safety requirements throughout all stages of the project lifecycle
- Manage and mitigate project risks

Technical Skills


- Experience of working at a senior level with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and building effective client relationships
- Highly experienced in proposal development and business development opportunities as part of wider strategy for the business.
- Proven track record of working effectively on international projects, on behalf of developers and/or investors. Experience working for an advisory / consulting business would be useful.
- Experienced in development and execution of ESG projects in compliance with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, PRI and other international requirements
- Demonstrable experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and growing technical capability, including managing the deployment of resources to deliver successful outcomes and high-quality deliverables.

RPS is looking for an Associate Director to join our Built Heritage Team. This is a rare opportunity for a consultant to take on and develop an existing client base. We are looking to recruit an Associate Director. but would also consider appointing at Director level for the right candidate. The position will be nominally based in our London office but, following our adoption of agile working practices we will consider candidates based across the country (who could instead work from our Newark, Gloucester, Abingdon or Edinburgh offices). Reporting to the NLFT CEO, the Programme Director is responsible for leading a range of NLFT projects and associated business change activities related to the Programme.

The role manages the St Pancras Programme Sponsor Group, as well as the relationship with KCCLP, and has primary responsibility for successful delivery of the required outcomes, including the establishment of appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues and ensuring the business readiness for change.

Having successfully delivered two state of the art mental health facilities at Highgate East and Lowther Road, the Programme has undertaken a major review of the scope of next stages and will be delivering additional improved facilities for mental health services (provided by NLFT), both on the existing site and other local sites. The site is currently home to a kidney dialysis unit (provided by Royal Free London NHSFT), and the move of this facility to another local site will require close co-ordination with the wider Programme. The new health facilities on site, coupled with Project Oriel, a world-leading centre for advancing eye health (delivered by Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL) and extensive regeneration of the area by KCCLP gives the Programme the potential to be a world-class healthcare-led urban regeneration programme.
