This is a senior post within the Corporate Nursing Team and member of the executive team, the post holder will be required to liaise with and influence a range of stakeholders including external regulators. The post holder will be required to deputise for the Chief Nurse across patient safety, patient experience and quality accountabilities. Key Responsibilities include : Lead on practice development that reflects the national and local quality/patient experience agenda. Lead on the development of the corporate quality strategy and support the implementation of a work programme which delivers the relevant outcomes. Support the delivery of the patient and staff inclusion agenda to support the implementation of the equality delivery system. Ensure sustainable and improved organisational wide systems and processes for quality assurance. Coordinate the delivery of the Trust framework for quality assurance. Ensure sustainable and robust management systems that are integrated across all parts and levels of the organisation. Implement systems and processes to promote patient safety and compliance with CQC registration requirements. Contribute to the development and implementation of robust performance management arrangements for patient safety and quality through close working with the site and divisional nursing directors. Implement national guidance and policy relating to patient safety and quality. Provide leadership and expertise across all professions and levels of the organisation in quality, risk management and clinical governance. Develop relevant corporate polices. Work in partnership with system partners on all aspects of quality and patient safety. Prepare accurate and timely briefing and Board reports. Ensure links and support for staff across all of the Trust directorates recognising that equality, diversity, modernisation and service improvement are part of everybodys day to day business. Establish and maintain effective communication links with the CNO, providing briefings on current issues as they impact on the patient safety/quality agenda, including: Feedback from meetings Opinion and thought using own experiences and knowledge to highlight issues of strategic importance affecting the quality agenda Advising on all elements for which the post holder has lead responsibility
